Usha to sponsor junior training programme of Delhi Golf Club to encourage young and promising golfing talents

Young Indian golfers can improve their skills under experienced coaches

New Delhi, May 12, 2015: Usha International, one of India’s leading household consumer durable brands has been associated with the Junior Training Programme (JTP) of the Delhi Golf Club since 2006 with the aim of introducing golf to youngsters between the ages of 8 and 17 years and discovering and nurturing talented juniors.

The 29th edition of Junior Training Programme will kick start on 11th May and will continue up to the 20th June. Under the guidance of well-known coaches, Vikram Sethi, Ms. Nonita Lal Quereshi, Jasjit Singh and Ajay Gupta, every participating kid will be trained on the basics of the sport. Over the years, the programme has maintained an excellent track record of producing professional golfers. Well known golfers like Ashok Kumar, Rashid Khan and Gauri Monga have all participated in this programme.

During the training camp, kids are divided into three levels of ability - Advanced, Intermediate and Beginners and different aspects of the game like driving, chipping, putting, bunker play are taught. Every camp concludes with a 9 or 18 hole stroke play competition and thereafter the winners are felicitated with trophies
