Gurgaon, Oct 24 (IANS) Delhi golfer Vani Kapoor took the lead in the penultimate round of the Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour 2013 at the Golden Greens Golf & Resorts here Thursday.
Vani returned with the day’s best score of three under 69 to finish at the top with a total score of 141 (72, 69) after 36 holes.
Vani started her round with a bogey on the first hole which was followed by another bogey on the sixth hole, but she quickly recovered with five birdies on the second, 10th, 11th, 15th and 18th holes.
Overnight leader Saaniya Sharma from Chandigarh faltered in the second round to return with a total score of 146 (70,76).
She trails Vani by five shots and is placed second after the 36 holes.
Pallavi Jain (78, 72) and Kolkata golfer Neha Tripathi(78, 72) were placed third with identical scores of 150 after the second round. Rookie Pune golfer Shweta Galande is placed fifth after 36 holes with a total score of 152 (77,75).
The Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour 2013 comprises a total of fourteen legs spanning across key locations in India.
