WATCH: Oosthuizen's stunning up-and-down effort rescues par
Louis Oosthuizen, enduring a mixed day at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, looked in real trouble at the third hole on Thursday.
The South African's opening round of the European Tour event had not quite gone to plan after four bogeys from his first six holes having started at the 10th, but three birdies lifted him back to one over.
However, Oosthuizen was again struggling after his third shot at the par-five third left him out of sight of the hole, hidden by a hill in a very awkward spot on the Kingsbarns course.
Yet the 2010 Open winner at St Andrews managed to pull off a ludicrous up-and-down effort, allowing the 35-year-old to roll in a close-range putt to save par.
The European Tour shared a clip of Oosthuizen's phenomenal recovery, complete with one of his playing partners hopping out of the way as his improbable fourth shot came into view on the green.
