Indian team for women’s World Cup was announced on 14th of August. The team was selected jointly by IOA and HI. The team is missing the services of veteran Mamta Kharab due to a knee injury and she will also miss CWG in October.
Striker Surinder Kaur has been retained as the captain of the team, due to her performance. She has been the goal scoring machine for the team. She has scored many goals in the recently held tournaments and also helped the team to win Bronze medal in the inaugural Asian Champions Trophy.
