The Indian hockey has seen a slew of guys coaching the national team over the recent years. Let us look at the win-loss record of Indian coaches since March 2009 when Spaniard Jose Brasa took charge. It is worth recalling that Brasa had taken up the new job in May 2009 after the Indian team was without a national coach for more than an year after Joaquim Carvalho resigned in March 2008, following eight-time champions India failing to qualify for the Olympics for the first time in 80 years.

Besides Brasa, Harendra Singh, Michael Nobbs, Terry Walsh and Paul van Ass has served as national head coach, with newly-appointed head coach Roelant Oltmans also donning the role of national coach in two tournaments as a stop-gap arrangement once at the 2013 Asia Cup in Ipoh, when Michael Nobbs has sacked, and again during the 2014 Champions Trophy after Terry Walsh quit his job in late 2014.
