IMPACT Wrestling Bound For Glory featured many title changes

IMPACT Wrestling's biggest show, Bound For Glory, is in the history books. Multiple new champions were crowned, some surprising ones, others not as much. The main event ended with a segment that is sure to divide opinion.

IMPACT Wrestling introduced a new title and crowned a new champion while two great friends reunited to pick up a big win. The Call Your Shot Intergender Gauntlet match was a bit of a let-down.

The company usually pulls out big surprises for its biggest pay-per-views. The likes of Adam Scherr, aka Braun Strowman, were rumored to debut, but it didn't happen. This show underwhelmed on the surprises front.

Let's look at the best and worst from IMPACT Wrestling Bound For Glory.

#2. Best/Worst: Did IMPACT Wrestling jump the gun with The IInspiration at Bound For Glory?

The IInspiration made a long-awaited return to the squared circle following their release from WWE. The former IIconics made their IMPACT Wrestling debut at Bound For Glory and immediately dethroned the team of Rosemary and Havok.

The Australian duo lifted the IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Championship on their first night. Did IMPACT Wrestling jump the gun with the IInspiration?

There is no doubt that Jessica McKay and Cassie Lee are the most prominent tag team in the Knockouts division. But winning the titles on their debut undermines the division.

IMPACT Wrestling wanted to capitalize on the buzz that the former WWE Women's Tag Team Champions' debut created and strapped the belts on them. This decision will divide opinion, with many in favor and others skeptical about this booking.

#1. Best/Worst: AEW-IMPACT Wrestling partnership over?

When the Good Brothers made their first AEW appearance, expectations were quite high as to what AEW and IMPACT Wrestling could accomplish with the forbidden door smashed.

However, it didn't quite pan out that way. We saw Kenny Omega appear on several IMPACT Wrestling shows before Christian Cage did the same. The Young Bucks appeared sporadically to cause distractions, but that was it.

There were no women who wrestled across both promotions and, in the end, the partnership fell flat. With reports coming out that Bound For Glory marked the end of this partnership, is that best for both companies?

#2. Best: The world title matches on IMPACT Wrestling Bound For Glory were amazing

The IMPACT Wrestling Bound For Glory main event, and the co-main event, featured the two biggest title matches of the night. Deonna Purrazzo defended her title against Mickie James while Christian Cage and Josh Alexander battled it out in the main event.

Deonna Purrazzo's second title reign lasted nearly a year, but Mickie James proved too tough of an opponent for The Virtuosa. However, the two women tore the house down in arguably the match of the night. Theirs was one of the best women's matches of the year.

In the main event, the Walking Weapon took on Captain Charisma for the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship. An excellent technical match led to the former X-Division champion defeating Christian Cage.

Both the matches were the highlights of the night from an in-ring perspective.

#2. Worst: IMPACT Wrestling Bound For Glory didn't deliver enough surprises

IMPACT Wrestling's biggest surprises are reserved for the biggest shows. Slammiversary featured a total of seven surprise returns and debuts.

Thunder Rosa, Mickie James, Aiden English, No Way Jose, FinJuice, Jay White, and Chelsea Green were all part of the surprises. Compare that to last night's show, Bound For Glory underwhelmed big time.

#1. Best: Trey Miguel gets his IMPACT Wrestling crowning moment at Bound For Glory

Trey Miguel has been in IMPACT Wrestling for three years and, in his 10th attempt, won his first title with the company. Spider-Trey defeated Steve Maclin and El Phantasmo to lift the vacant IMPACT Wrestling X Division Championship.

Trey Miguel is one of the finest talents in the Nashville-based promotion and was long overdue for a run with any title in IMPACT Wrestling. As stated previously, he competed in plenty of title matches.

Josh Alexander relinquishing the X-Division title worked wonders for the Ohio native. It helped matters that the match was an absolute classic between three supremely talented individuals.

#1. Worst: Moose winning the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship at Bound For Glory was the wrong call

Josh Alexander was celebrating with his wife and kid in the ring after realizing his dream of becoming the IMPACT Wrestling World Champion. Moose ruined all the victory celebrations as he called his shot and pinned the Walking Weapon to immediately win the world title.

This decision was wrong for several reasons. First and foremost, it was extremely unfair on Josh Alexander. Not only has he lost the IMPACT Wrestling X-Division Championship but got jumped for the world title as well.

The entire story was built around the Canadian wrestler getting the title from Christian Cage back to IMPACT Wrestling. Moose's cash in ruined the moment, and the company put the belt on a controversial character owing to Moose's personal life legal issues.

Bound For Glory should have been Josh Alexander's moment, but it was tarnished by the Moose cash-in.
