A huge 20-man battle royale headlined the episode of IMPACT Wrestling on August 12 to determine the number one contender for the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship at Emergence.

Four matches had been scheduled to take place on Thursday. Tenille Dashwood and Taylor Wilde opened the show, followed by a Championship Contender match between Josh Alexander and Daivari.

David Finlay and Juice Robinson faced off against Bullet Club's Chris Bey and Jay White ahead of Switchblade's clash against Finlay at NJPW Resurgence.

Matt Cardona was stunned as he lost to John Skyler. Several segments took place throughout the show to hype up the upcoming Christian Cage vs Kenny Omega match at AEW Rampage for the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship.

In her final appearance, a former champion was dragged into the darkness, and the feud between the Good Brothers and Violent by Design saw tempers rise.

Let's look at what all happened in this week's IMPACT Wrestling.

Tenille Dashwood (w/Kaleb) vs Taylor Wilde on IMPACT Wrestling

We kicked things off with a collar and elbow tie-up as the crowd chanted "Let's Get Wild." We saw some chain wrestling, and Wilde took down Tenille with an arm drag. After more back and forth chain wrestling, we saw Wilde take Tenille down with a head scissors as Tenille walked out to regroup.

Wilde got in some forearm shots and dropped Tenille with a scoop slam. Kaleb distracted Wilde as Tenille got a swinging neck breaker off the ropes for a one count. Tenille hit Taylor with a clothesline for a near fall. Wilde drags Tenille into the corner, but Tenille counters with a boot to the face.

Tenille hit an under hook suplex in the corner and took out Wilde with a low splash for a two count. Wilde mounted a comeback, hit a backbreaker and followed it up with a double stomp in the corner. Maddison Rayne interfered, allowing Tenille to hit the Spotlight for the win.

After the match, Maddison Rayne and Dashwood hugged and celebrated the win.

Josh Alexander vs Daivari on IMPACT Wrestling

This was a contender's match, where Daivari would get a future shot at the IMPACT Wrestling X-Division title should he win.

Alexander started strong by backing Daivari into the corner. He locked in the Ankle Lock early, but Daivari made it to the bottom rope. Daivari ate a massive boot to the face as Jake Something showed up on the ramp to stare down the Walking Weapon.

Alexander took control before Daivari dropped him to the outside with a dropkick. Daivari hit Alexander with an apron back-drop and followed it up with a back elbow inside the ring for a near fall.

The final sequence saw Daivari escape from the Ankle Lock but not the Spike DDT. Alexander hit three German suplexes back-to-back before putting him away with the C4 Spiker piledriver.

After the match, Jake Something walked into the ring, shoved the IMPACT Wrestling X-Division belt into Alexander's chest, and walked off.

Result: Josh Alexander def. Daivari

Kiera Hogan addresses Tasha Steelz's attack on IMPACT Wrestling

A video package was played, showing various people chiming in on the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship match between Christian Cage and Kenny Omega at AEW Rampage.

Last week, Kiera Hogan was betrayed by Tasha Steelz on IMPACT Wrestling as Fire 'N Flava broke up.

This week, Hogan called out Steelz and her new partner Savannah Evans. Su Yung and Kimber Lee walked out instead. Lee attacked Hogan, but the former IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts tag team champion fought her off.

Hogan turned her attention to Su Yung, who pulled out her bloody glove and seemed to control Lee and asked her to take out Hogan. Lee grabbed Hogan by her hair and dragged her out of the ring and up the ramp on Lee's command.

With Kiera Hogan announcing her departure from IMPACT Wrestling three weeks ago, this was her last appearance for the company.

Jay White and Chris Bey vs FinJuice (Juice Robinson and David Finlay) on IMPACT Wrestling

White and Finlay got the IMPACT Wrestling match underway with big collar and elbow tie-ups. White got the upper hand as he drop-kicked Finlay out of the ring. Finlay was tossed onto the barricades as Switchblade stomped on him on the outside before tagging in Chris Bey.

Bey grounded Finlay before the latter managed to tag in Juice Robinson. Robinson hit Bey with a senton, but the IMPACT Wrestling star maintained the upper hand with an elbow drop off the second rope, leading to Robinson falling out of the ring. White dropped Robinson with an apron-back hit as he became the legal man.

Bey and White wore down Robinson with quick tags. Bey locked in a stretched abdominal hold and countered a senton from Robinson by getting his knees up. Robinson finally put an end to the onslaught with a vertical suplex, and both men tagged in their partners.

Finlay and White produced clean counters to each other's moves before Finlay took down White with a diving European uppercut. White tagged in Bey and got taken out on ringside. FinJuice planted the Doomsday Device on Bey, but White broke up the cover with a chair shot to cause a disqualification.

White proceeded to brutalise Finlay with the chair on IMPACT Wrestling before hitting the Blade Runner on the chair to send him a message ahead of NJPW Resurgence.

Result: FinJuice def. Bullet Club via DQ

Matt Cardona started off the IMPACT Wrestling match strong by hitting Skyler with a dropkick and following it up with a shoulder block. After hitting Skyler with a flapjack, Cardona dropped him with two big boots on the outside.

Skyler got some offence in by hitting a spear through the ropes for a two count. Cardona ate a huge swinging European uppercut in the corner. Cardona got back the momentum as he hit a back elbow and a clothesline in the corner. Shera and Rohit Raju made their way to the ring.

Shera and Raju got on the apron to distract Cardona, which allowed Skyler to roll him up for a shocking win.

20-man Number One Contender Battle Royal on IMPACT Wrestling

The main event saw the highly anticipated number one contender battle royal to determine the next challenger for the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship.

The heart and soul of IMPACT Wrestling Eddie Edwards was the first to make his entrance while Moose and Sami Callihan entered last. W. Morrissey made a dominant start, notching up three eliminations in quick time by tossing out Suicide, Johnny Swinger and Hernandez.

Fearing the 7-foot monster, everybody in the ring joined forces to eliminate the former Big Cass from the match. Sam Beale eliminated Petey Williams following interference by Steve Maclin.

Rich Swann and Cody Deaner slugged it out on the ring apron, and Swann took him out with a superkick. Rhyno speared Swann off the apron and down to the floor before Willie Mack tossed Rhyno out.

Madman Fulton and Willie Mack traded rights in the middle of the ring before Fulton dropped Mack outside. Fulton protected Ace Austin throughout the match.

No Way struck Austin with a big right, but Fulton intervened and eliminated No Way. Fallah Bahh hit Austin with a running hip attack with a corner and nearly eliminated Austin, but Fulton got in the way and got eliminated instead.

Moose then tossed Fallah out of the ring. Trey Miguel tried fighting off Sam Beale and Brian Myers, but Myers pushed Beale into Miguel and eliminated him.

Eddie Edwards was eliminated shortly afterwards, as Myers betrayed Beale by sneakily tossing him out. Callihan spiked Myers with a piledriver in the middle of the ring before tossing out Austin, who just hung on. Both men traded blows on the apron, but Callihan eliminated Austin before Moose took out Callihan.

Sabin, Moose and Myers were the final three. Sabin and Moose had an excellent back and forth, but Myers took both men out of the ring simultaneously as Sabin applied a sleeper hold on Moose while leaning against the ropes. With that double elimination, Brian Myers becomes the number 1 contender for the IMPACT Wrestling World Champion Kenny Omega.

Result: Brian Myers wins the battle royal to become the number one contender for the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship
