The Knockouts Tag Team Title Tournament is underway on iMPACT Wrestling. Over the past few months, iMPACT has done a superb job of establishing different tag teams within their Knockouts division. Fans have begged for the return of the Knockouts Tag Team Titles. At Bound For Glory, the company finally satisfied those cries by announcing this tournament to determine new champions.
With the assortment of talented ladies on the roster, it could be anyone's tournament to win here. There are current and former Knockouts Champions as well as young upstarts looking to make their mark in the company. The finals will take place at Hard To Kill on January 16th, 2021, so a lot may transpire as the teams fight it out over the next few weeks.
All of the teams have their own credentials and reasons to come out victorious. In this article, we will rank the five remaining teams in the Knockouts Tag Team Title Tournament.
#5 Deonna Purrazzo & Kimber Lee (Knockouts Tag Team Title Tournament)
The current Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo has been busy dealing with the former champion Su Yung ever since her return at Bound For Glory. However, she will also be a part of this tournament. Following her win over Jordynne Grace in an Iron Man Match at Emergence, Purrazzo aligned herself with Kimber Lee, making her the Virtousa's curator.
These two ladies have gelled over the last couple of months. Kimber Lee has assisted Deonna in her feuds with Kylie Rae, Susie and Su Yung. She has helped the Virtousa keep the Impact Knockouts Championship and been a reliable associate.
Deonna and Kimber's talents in the ring are unquestionable. Both are among the best technical workers on the Knockouts roster and will give any team a run for their money. Their ongoing storyline with Susie and her alter ego, Su Yung, may be their biggest weakness, which keeps them from being higher on this list.
#4 Havok & Nevaeh (Knockouts Tag Team Title Tournament)
The team with the most experience together has to be Havok and Nevaeh. The two have long been teammates on the independent scene. It was also the former Knockouts Champion who brought Nevaeh to iMPACT Wrestling earlier this year. This also doesn't even account for their skillset inside the ring.
Havok has shown herself to be the most powerful and intimidating competitor in the entire Knockouts division. She has long been a woman that strikes fear into her opposition. With a resume that includes being a former Knockouts Champion and taking on the likes of Awesome Kong, Havok is to be feared by any opponent she stands across from.
On the other hand, Nevaeh has been a quality addition to iMPACT Wrestling since her introduction. She has a beautiful blend of strength and technical prowess that has allowed her to make the most of every opportunity so far.
These two Ohio natives have been blazing a path in tag team action. They are also well aware of most of the teams included in the Knockouts Tag Team Title Tournament. They made short work of their first round encounter with Tenille Dashwood and Alisha Edwards.
With the mix of experience and strength at their disposal, Havok and Nevaeh will be a tough matchup for any team they contend with.
#3 Rosemary & Taya Valkyrie (Knockouts Tag Team Title Tournament)
Another unit with plenty of experience with one another in the Knockouts Tag Team Title Tournament is the duo of Rosemary and Taya Valkyrie. Unlike Havok and Nevaeh, the majority of the tenure between these two were as opponents. In fact, it was Taya Valkyrie who debuted in iMPACT Wrestling by attacking Rosemary.
These ladies have formed a friendship based on respect and their own personal struggles. Following the end of Taya's record breaking Knockouts Title run, she found solace and companionship with her former rival, Rosemary. Along the way, the two created a bond after fighting over the affection of Valkyrie's manager, John E. Bravo.
With the mystery of "Who Shot Bravo?" in their rearview mirror, these two former rivals look to achieve greatness together. Rosemary is one of the most unpredictable and dangerous competitors in the Knockouts division. Taya Valkyrie puts together a deadly combination of grace, precision and hard hitting arsenal, which makes her among the best that iMPACT Wrestling have seen.
Both are former Knockouts Champions and have put on plenty of high profile matches against each other and other women in this tournament. Their combined forces will make them a formidable challenge for anyone they contend with. The only question remaining is can they put their past issues to the side to win the Knockouts Tag Team gold?
#2 Jordynne Grace & Jazz (Knockouts Tag Team Title Tournament)
Heading into the Knockouts Tag Team Title Tournament, Jordynne Grace has found herself on a losing streak of sorts. She lost the Knockouts Championship to Deonna Purrazzo back at Slammiversary and their rematch in an Iron Man Match at Emergence. Grace also fell short in her bid for the X Division Championship at Bound For Glory and in tag action teaming with Tenille Dashwood at Turning Point.
With those struggles, the former Knockouts Champion looked to a legend for assistance in this tournament. She called upon none other than former WWE Women's Champion and ECW alumni Jazz. The former NWA Women's World Champion had just announced her retirement a few months back, but she decided to achieve one last goal before calling it quits in the Knockouts Tag Team Titles.
These two ladies make the most powerful duo of the bunch. Their credentials in singles action are stunning, but they just might be the most unpredictable team as well. Their first round victory over Renee Michelle and Killer Kelly showed that they can mesh well together. They should be a force to be reckon with in the Knockouts Tag Team Title Tournament.
#1 Tasha Steelz & Kiera Hogan (Knockouts Tag Team Title Tournament)
The first tag team to really put emphasis on the return of the Knockouts Tag Team Titles was Tasha Steelz and Kiera Hogan. The two ladies have been aligned since Steelz signed with iMPACT Wrestling. They got involved quickly in a feud with Havok and Nevaeh that they came out victorious in.
Tasha Steelz has been one of the fastest rising Knockouts in the promotion since coming in May of 2020. She also been a star on the East Coast independent scene including becoming the Battle Club Pro Icons Champion. Kiera Hogan has gradually improved from the start of her time in iMPACT Wrestling in 2017. Although she has not always had the best luck with friends in Impact, Kiera and Tasha have bonded quickly.
Hogan and Steelz have caused friction with many of the teams in the division prior to the Knockouts Tag Team Title Tournament and have experience ahead of the start. They came out with the win over the Sea Stars in the first round, but will have to face even fiercer competition in the rounds ahead.
With former Knockouts Champions and legends to come, Kiera and Tasha will have to dig deep to overcome their opponents. However, they have showed in their short time together that they will do whatever is necessary to pull out the victory. This is why they have to be considered the favorites to win the Knockouts Tag Team Title Tournament and become the new champions.
