That's it from myself, Pratyush Rohra, and my co-commentator, Pradeep Somashekar. Stay tuned to Sportskeeda for second semi-final and also for all the sporting action around the globe! Goodnight, ciao, adios!
Well, then! That was the story of David conquering Goliath. The defending champions have bowed out of the tournament, meaning that it's back-to-back finals for the Saint Lucia Kings. They will be eager to get over the line this time, having defeated the side they lost the final against last season. They were the underdogs in this contest and have managed to overcome a massive hurdle which will give them a huge boost heading into the final.

It was Mark Deyal who set the tone for his side with a blistering knock but the TKR managed to pull things back in the middle overs. However, the blockbuster finish provided by Tim David and David Wiese ensured that the Kings post a mammoth 205 on the board. With the pressure of the scoreboard in this knockout tie, that proved to be enough. Just!

Lendl Simmons failed to get off the blocks but Sunil Narine and Colin Munro ensured that they get made the most of the powerplay overs. Four scorers in the 20's with some quickfire knocks all around but it was Ramdin's 29 off 26 that might have hurt the defending champions the most. While he was sent out to play anchor, he missed out on some looseners, which piled on the pressure on his teammates.

There was still the big threat (pun intended), of Kieron Pollard looming for the Kings. With a few lusty blows, it seemed like the script was written for another Pollard heroic knock but it was David Wiese who stole the show. The all-rounder finished off with a fifer(his second this year) and could do no wrong with bat or ball. With the key wicket of Pollard and successive breakthroughs in the penultimate over, he ensured that the Kings get to their second final in two years.

Will they finally break the duck and go over the line? We'll have to wait and find out. For now though, the Kings will put their legs up and enjoy the contest in the second semi-final. You can do the same, following the second semi-final between the Warriors and Patriots.
Andre Fletcher: It's a great feeling to get into the finals. Last year we got to the final but couldn't get over the line but this year we wanted to get back there, prove it wasn't a fluke. We want to go a step further and pass the hurdle. Mark played very well. I told him to back himself and take the attack to them. That set them back. After the break, we knew it wasn't over. With Pollard yet to come, we knew that the most important thing was to take the rate as high as possible before he comes in. I'm humble knowing the coaching staff believe in me, and that I have the support of the players. I want to ensure we pass that final hurdle.
Kieron Pollard: It was a good pitch. We have got to give them credit. They were the better team and you've got to give it to them on this occasion. Proud of the boys and the way they fought. We never thought that the target was too big. We did give away a couple of extra runs though. The guys have been fantastic throughout the tournament. A lot of people around the world would've loved to see the back of us, and there you have it. Ravi Rampaul coming back to the CPL and bowling well, Akeal Hosein bowled well for us. These things happen and we have to accept it. Will sit back and watch the final tomorrow, and may the best team win.
David Wiese (Player of the match): We got a little right in the middle overs with the spinners on. Narine was brilliant and we couldn't get him away. Tim is a brilliant striker and he's been great all season. It's unbelievable. In this game, some time's you bowl well and don't get the wickets and sometimes everyone else bowls well and you get the wickets. I was lucky with the wicket. We know he's a phenomenal striker of the ball (on Pollard), and you'll go for six. Last one was a bit out of the plan but you've got to go with your gut sometimes.
This was an absolute nail-biter throughout! The defending champions have been knocked out in the semi-finals and it's Saint Lucia Kings who are headed into their second consecutive final! David (Wiese) conquers Goliath!

GAME, SET, AND MATCH! SAINT LUCIA KINGS ARE INTO THE FINALS!
19.3 Keemo Paul to Ali Khan, OUT! IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! Saint Lucia Kings are into the Finals of CPL 2021! Full delivery on the off-stump as Ali goes down his knee to launch it out of the ground but he skies it straight up as Deyal charges in from long-on and takes a sensational catch. Knight Riders are bowled out and Kings make it to the Finals two times in a row!
19.2 Keemo Paul to Ali Khan, full toss and sprays it down the leg-side but along the way brushes the pads to the keeper and it's a DOT BALL in the end.
Ravi Rampaul, left-hand bat, comes to the crease
That's the death knell, surely...
19.1 Keemo Paul to Khary Pierre, OUT! MILES UP IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! Length delivery on the off-stump as Pierre goes down his knee to launch that one out of the park but skies it straight up, too much elevation as the fielder at long-on judges it to perfection, positions around the ropes and holds on to a brilliant catch!
Right then. Is there a final twist left in this tale? As it stands, the defending champions are heading out! Keemo Paul for the final over. 22 needed. Who wants to be a hero?

18.6 David Wiese to Ali Khan, OH MY! FOUR! Wiese almost had his sixth wicket as Ali smokes a full delivery down to cow corner where two fielders running across fails to keep it in play, goes over the fence for a boundary.
18.5 David Wiese to Ali Khan, full delivery on the outside off as Ali has a big hoick at it and misses but well done David Wiese, he's been sensational today!
Ali Khan, right-hand bat, comes to the crease.
ANOTHER FIFER FOR DAVID WIESE! That's his second in the tournament! Can he top it off with a hat-trick?
18.4 David Wiese to Tim Seifert, OUT! STRAIGHT TO EXTRA-COVER! FIFER FOR WIESE! Full delivery on the wide of off-stump as Tim slices it straight to the extra-cover where Chase takes a splendid catch and Wiese is not done yet, he's on a HATTRICK now!
