Sydney Sixers chase down 151 with 2 overs to spare and 7 wickets in hand! Josh Philippe (41 off 24) kept the Sixers well ahead of the run rate with his cameo at the top of the order! He even rubbed off his spell on his opening partner Jack Edwards a bit, before both of them were bowled over by the master spinner Rashid Khan!
It was that man who stopped the run-flow for the Strikers as the Sixers found it difficult for a few overs to get the two new batsmen to keep up with the run-rate. James Vince brought in his experience into play and scored a match winning unbeaten knock of 45 runs off 33 balls with 3 fours and a six! Rashid Khan picked 3 wickets in his first 3 overs and was really the only hope for the Strikers to get an advantage over the boys in Magenta. Jordan Silk too hit a flurry of boundaries in the end to end up 38 not out off 28 balls to take the Sixers over the line!
No other Strikers bowler picked a wicket or bowled at an economy of less than 8 and that was the story of the day for the Strikers. The Sydney Strikers now earn the top-most spot on the points table pushing Thunder down to No. 2!
That was that from me (Sameer Deodhar) and my colleague Prashanth Satish from the BBL! Stay tuned at SportsKeeda to follow the rest of the matches!
15.6 Peter Siddle to Jordan Silk, FOUR! Full and in the block hole and Silk has driven this one straight back past the bowler to pick up back to back boundaries.
15.5 Peter Siddle to Jordan Silk, FOUR! INSDIE EDGE! Good-length ball on stump line and Silk gets an inside edge past the keeper at short fine-leg to the fine-leg boundary this time. Four runs to Jordan Silk!
