Zimbabwe 250/10 & 17/0 (3.2 ov)
Zimbabwe won by 10 wickets
Player of the match: Sean Williams
Sean Williams (Winning Captain/ Player of the Match, Zimbabwe) : It was a fantastic team performance. I was really happy with my seam bowlers. Obviously was a difficult wicket to bat on but like i said before this Test, these challenges come in Test cricket and if we take them head on we will cross the line.

Test cricket is one of those games that can swing in just a couple of balls The senior players in our team came to the party which is what I wanted and the young guys will learn from that leading forward to the future.

To sync momentum back into our favor, both of us ( Sikandar Raza) are aggressive players so he took the role of being little more aggressive than I did. I had to deal with a little bit more spin than him. If you look at the wicket it was carpet one side and dust on the other. Unfortunately our partnership didn't go over a hundred but the goals we are looking at are big partnerships. I was just happy to see the senior players stand up.
Asghar Afghan (Losing Captain, Afghanistan) : I would like to congratulate the Zimbabwe team. They played very well. Yesterday we won a good toss but their bowlers bowled a good line so honestly our batsmen played some poor shots as well.

Our bowlers, specially Hamza, bowled brilliantly. They bowled very well but our total was too low. In the second innings, their skipper played very well, they took time on the wicket and put a good score on the board that put pressure as well.

I think we did not prepare well for the first Test because of Visa issues. We have six days for the next game and we will try our best and think positive. Zadran (Ibrahim) played really well and we will try to play good cricket in the next game.
Zimbabwe then winning the game inside two days, dominating Afghanistan and a very comfortable victory for them in the end. Their bowlers doing the work for them in bowling Afghanistan out cheaply in both the innings that really gave them the advantage. Blessing Muzarabani, Victor Nyauchi and Donald Tiripano, all of them amongst wickets in both the innings doing really well especially with that new ball at the top, affecting the collapses that put Afghanistan on the backfoot and they could not recover from there at all. It was the innings from skipper Sean Williams as well that made all the difference as he held it together for side, making sure they got to a healthy lead from a spot of bother as the Afghan bowlers did well too.

Afghanistan at one point were staring at an innings defeat but Ibrahim saved them off that with an incredible 76, showing class, grit and excellent control. He did get decent support from the lower order as well but it once again the top order failure that let them down when they had the opportunity to come back into the game. They way Sean Williams batted was one of the key highlights of this game in tough conditions on the first day. He was good when it came to the captaincy as well with the rotation of his bowlers and he has truly lead his side remarkably well in this game.

Positives for Afghanistan, Ibrahim with the bat who showed promise in the first innings after getting the start and then converting it in the second innings. Their bowlers, Amir Hamza in particular getting six wickets in the first innings was also a positive from them but it required a lot more than just two individuals doing good for them. With lots of time now between the next Test, they have time to look into things to improve, while they will also hope for Rashid Khan to get back in action.

Zimbabwe can take a lot of confidence from this game for the way they have gone about their cricket, bowling well consistently in both the innings, putting the pressure on the opposition and not allowing them to comeback at any stage. A dominant victory for them, convincing and clinical as well. Sean Williams leading the way with a magnificent ton, in the field with the captaincy as well and starting the tour off on a positive note is what every team would want, especially while playing away from home!
And that is the game for Zimbabwe! A ten-wicket win inside two days and this has been an incredible performance from them away from home! Ensuring they win this game without any trouble and taking a lead going into the second and final Test of the series. They will be mighty pleased with the way they have gone about their cricket, a very clinical, dominant and professional performance from them!
3.2 Amir Hamza to Kevin Kasuza, full on the stumps, Kasuza flicks it to the fine-leg fence. That is it. Zimbabwe wrap up a dominant 10-wicket victory.
3.1 Amir Hamza to Kevin Kasuza, full and down leg, Kasuza misses the flick shot.
Kevin Kasuza looking to play his shots, bringing the sweep as well and then for another couple. Quite obviously, intending to finish it in quick time now. They have managed to draw the scores and now need just 1 more run to 1-0 up in the two match series!
Over: 3 | Summary: 0 0 0 0 0 0 Bowler: Blessing Muzarabani Score: 5/1
2.6 Amir Hamza to Kevin Kasuza, full and down leg, Kasuza clips it to fine-leg for two runs.
2.5 Amir Hamza to Kevin Kasuza, quick and full, Kasuza hangs back and defends.
2.4 Amir Hamza to Kevin Kasuza, full on the stumps, Kasuza slogs it over deep mid-wicket. Two runs taken.
2.3 Amir Hamza to Kevin Kasuza, full outside off, Kasuza comes forward and blocks it.
Just four more required now as Zimbabwe look to finish this quickly!
2.2 Amir Hamza to Kevin Kasuza, flighted outside off, Kasuza looks to sweep but he gets a thick-ish inside edge behind square for a boundary.
2.1 Amir Hamza to Kevin Kasuza, full outside off, Kasuza defends it.
An inside edge that eluded the keeper there with Ahmadzai getting it swing into the batsmen. Bowling a good line and length there and in that off stump channel. Afghanistan have bowled well in this game but it has been the batting that has really let them down in both the innings. Good looking shot straight to the fielder to end the over. Zimbabwe need 8 more runs to win!
