Southern Crusaders CC have won this match by 6 wickets!

What a low scoring thriller at the end of match 10 has turned out to be! Crusaders who looked set to win this match comfortably started to lose their way in the second half of the innings. The American University of Malta face a crushing defeat and fail to register their first points.

Crusaders got a great start with the bat courtesy of Micheal Goonetilleke the skipper who led the way for his side. He scored a quickfire 16 runs by hitting 3 boundaries. Micheal was unfortunately sent back into the hut by a cracking delivery from the leading wicket-taker for the tournament Shubham Patel.

Crusaders lost a couple more wickets after that in quick succession and the match were the Crusaders were cruising through to the win suddenly were shaken up. Gopal Thakur was the man who stepped up for them and stayed there, in the end, to make sure that his team manages to cross the finish line. Gopal stayed unbeaten on 20 off 16 runs in which he hit a couple of boundaries and a six.

For American University, Zoheb Malek bowled a brilliant penultimate over and created an outside chance for them to win. Gopal who was facing Zoheb was looking to go for the glory shot as only 11 runs were needed. He although managed to hit a six right on the last ball and brought the equation down to 5 from the last over.

Jitesh who bowled the final over also managed to keep things tight for his but a dropped catch where Crusaders managed to sneak in a couple. And right on the final ball of the innings where just 1 run was needed, the keeper took a shy at the stumps as the batsmen decided to make a run for it. The keeper hit them as well but it seemed like luck was not on their side as the bails did not dislodge. After a thorough analysis by the umpires Crusaders were declared the winners for the match.
