Atlas UTC Knights CC won this match by 19 runs!

Chasing 131 runs was surely going to be an uphill task for Southern Crusaders CC. They got the start they were looking for as SOC starting bowlers gave away a few extras. Openers Gaurav Maithani (11 of 13) and Michael Goonetilleke (9 of 6) looked good at the start but both the openers lost their wickets back to back which surely hampered their run chase.

Zeeshan Yousaf and Gopal Thakur tried to stead the ship as they looked to get themselves in. Both these batsmen just failed to pace the innings well as they left too much to get in the back end of the innings. Gopal managed to play a brilliant knock of 54 runs in 22 balls which consisted of 5 sixes and 4 fours.

Zeeshan on the other hand played the anchoring role as he scored 19 off 13. The required run-rate just kept creeping up till the end and they just needed a bit too much in the last 2 overs and in trying to get these runs, Gopal and Zeeshan perished in the span of 2 balls.

Sujesh K Appu the Knights skipper from the front as he managed to the initial breakthrough for his side. He ended his spell by conceding 18 runs. Things are going to get tougher for Southern Crusaders from here and on the other hand, Knights now look firm on top and surely make it to the finals day in this tournament.

28 runs from 6 balls was tough as and in trying to do so, Zeeshan loses his wicket because of a suicidal run out. Bilal had the licenes to go all guns blazing but he could manage to clobber only of the balls out of the park. Manoj bowled the decent last over and stuck to his line till the end.

9.5 Manoj Panicker to Mohammad Bilal, length ball outside off, Bilal has a play and a miss
9.4 Manoj Panicker to Mohammad Bilal, SIX!! Full and on the middle stump channel, Bilal tonks the ball hard and sends the ball sailing over the ropes for a maximum. Bilal showing that he is capable with the bat as well here!
9.3 Manoj Panicker to Ryan Bastiansz, length ball hit to deep square leg for a single
9.2 Manoj Panicker to Ryan Bastiansz, back of a length delivery, misses the ball on the leg stump
9.1 Manoj Panicker to Ryan Bastiansz, RUN OUT!! Back of a length delivery on the leg stump, Ryan gets a glove and the ball falls down, Yousaf backs up early and finds himself run out at the other end. Wickets are tumbling now for SOC in trying to the most out of this situtation
A good over for SOC as boundaries kept flowing in but unfortunately, a couple of boundaries were just not enough for them. Bose after being hit for back-to-back boundaries held his nerves and bowled well. Gopal who was batting well for his side finally perishes in trying to keep up with the run rate. 28 runs needed from the last over for SOC, they will need nothing short of a miracle to pull this one off!
Over: 9 | Summary: 1 1w 0 4 4 W 1 Bowler: Bose Paul Score: 103/3
8.6 Bose Paul to Ryan Bastiansz, length ball outside off, hit on the leg side from the left-hander for a single
8.5 Bose Paul to Gopal Thakur, CAUGHT!! Length ball outside off, Thakur looked to play it over the in field but the ball finds the fielder and he pouches it safely
8.4 Bose Paul to Gopal Thakur, FOUR!! Back of a length delivery on the middle stump, Thakur plays the Natraja shot and hits the ball to the backward point boundary for a boundary! SOC need to keep going here down to 29 runs in 8 balls!
8.3 Bose Paul to Gopal Thakur, FOUR!! Back of a length slower delivery, Thakur hits the ball over the deep point boundary and it runs away for a four. Down to 33 runs off 9 now!
8.2 Bose Paul to Gopal Thakur, full-length ball on top of the off stump, Thakur has a play and a miss. No run
8.2 Bose Paul to Gopal Thakur, wide ball outside off, Bose misses his radar
8.1 Bose Paul to Zeeshan Yousaf, FLUFFED!! Short and on the off stump, Yousaf looked to pull the ball, gets the top edge and the fielder fails to pouch it as the batting pair get a single
Basil has been taken to the cleaners towards the back end of his over. Gopal has now moved on to 46 runs in a flash. This game has surely been kept alive here, SOC need 39 runs in 12 balls, another huge over here and SOC sure have a better chance of winning this one. They desperately need this win here!

Bose Paul has come on to bowl the most crucial and rather a deciding over for this match.
