That is all that was written for this game then but all you Australian fans will surely have an eye on the England-South Africa game, wouldn't you? South Africa have been inserted in to bat by Eoin Morgan and they will need to pile up a big score before winning handsomely. If they manage to upstage Australia on net run-rate, they go through, else it will be Australia in the semifinals. England don't officially have the 'Q' against their name yet but it would take a loss of epic proportions to see their net run-rate plummet below that of both Australia and South Africa. Absolute dominance from the Australians. They have won and won handsomely to leave the Proteas with a lot of work to do in Sharjah against the might of England. Australia have done everything within their control and now, they wait and watch with their fate known for sure within the next few hours. As for West Indies, it was a sorry campaign. Ever since England sent them into submission in their tournament opener, it was a morale-shattering defeat that was going to be hard to recover from. A solitary win out of five games certainly doesn't reflect what this team is capable of doing but it does sum up a disappointing campaign for the side as they've fallen well short in their quest to defend the title. It was an emotional day though with Dwayne Bravo hanging up his boots from all internationals and while he may not have made it public, all signs point towards Chris Gayle having played his last international game as well. Both players autographed the camera at the end of the game but will the Universe Boss wear the Maroon of the West Indies again? Only time will tell as the era of a dynasty in T20 internationals comes to a close with this campaign. A period of rebuilding awaits Kieron Pollard and Co.

Aaron Finch (Australia Captain): The way Evin Lewis came out at the start we though it was going to be a long day. But we knew we would come up against some pressure against the West Indies. They were going to throw everything at us. (On Warner) He got off to a flyer and then got Mitch Marsh to settle in. Once that partnership was flourishing he got it into his control and he was superb. I wonder why people were having qualms over him. The guys have been training well - it's never a bad position when the guys in the middle-order haven't had time in the middle. We have to wait for the South Africa-England game now. One of the guys will stream it in our gang. It's just one of those things - even if it doesn't go our way, we can hold our heads high having won four out of five. (A word on Bravo) What a super, super player. Had the pleasure of playing with him on a number of occasions as well. Brilliant bowler and on the field as well he was terrific. For him to be able to hang up his boots on his own terms is something really special.

Kieron Pollard (West Indies Captain): I think overall it has been a disappointing campaign. In terms of our batting we haven't lived up to the expectations. Bowling has been decent but we could have done better. Overall we weren't good enough but it's the end of a generation with some guys in the dressing room having done great things in T20 cricket around the world. We as people are very very proud. We have to look at the way we play T20 cricket again. Our team was set up to do a lot of damage but we didn't. One guy in the top four looked to bat through the innings. We need to build from the foundation now and that's the reality of the situation. This journey has not started just at this World Cup - it would have started well before when we've been looking to accumulate points. We have no choice but to rebuild again. Thanks to all our supporters - to our Caribbean fans, we are very sorry to have disappointed you but thank you for your support throughout.

David Warner (Player of the Match): It felt satisfying to be there at the end tonight and hopefully see the boys to the semi-finals. The key was to come out and play my natural game and target the bowlers upfront. Obviously, with the slower bowlers up front was a bit of an adjustment. For me, it's about targeting the first two balls and Mitch Marsh coming in there and playing that knock was outstanding as well. The bowlers have been outstanding. The last game was clinical and to bowl the way they did tonight. We knew West Indies were going to come hard at us and they took us on early. We knew the firepower they possess and they got to a very competitive total. DJ Bravo has been a benchmark for all players coming through, and Chris as well. He sets a high standard for the openers. Unfortunately, I don't have the same size as him but he's someone I look up to.

Dwayne Bravo gets a round of applause and hugs from his teammates. It is Bravo and Chris Gayle who lead the Windies out of the park as they march towards the ropes where the Australian contingent comes out to greet them. It is the end of Bravo in international cricket and one can't help but feel that Gayle may have had his last dance as well today. Fair to say, we've seen the biggest dynasty in T20 internationals have a last dance out there.

West Indies did not have enough runs on the board. They made the wicket look a lot tougher than it actually was. Or another way of looking at it is to say that Warner and Marsh made the wicket look a lot better than it actually was. All in all, it was Australia all the way.

Chasing 158, Australia had to contend with Kieron Pollard positioning himself under the helmet in the first over. None of it was going to fluster a certain David Warner though, with the opener flaying the bowlers all around the park. Even as Aaron Finch departed after chopping one onto his stumps, Warner continued his merry ways and took Australia past 50 inside the Powerplay.

Mitchell Marsh turned out to be an able ally for Warner with both batters rotating the strike on a regular basis while also putting away anything within their zone. As Warner racked up a half-century and Marsh continued to pile on the runs himself, Australia ransacked 98 off the first ten overs to all but shut the game then and there.

Everything was a mere formality thereafter and it was a question of when and not if for Australia. Dwayne Bravo bowled his four-over quota for one final time in T20Is, and the Universe Boss came on to have a bowl himself. He also managed to get the wicket of Marsh but not before the latter got to a half-century of his own. Eventually, Warner fittingly sealed it with a boundary around the corner to take the Aussies home with a whopping 22 deliveries to spare. Barring Gayle, Akeal Hosein was the sole wicket-taker for the Windies.

A touch of class from the Australians. They set up a guard of honour for Dwayne Bravo and Chris Gayle. "Champion, Champion" blasts from the speakers and Warner shakes a leg with Bravo as well. A lovely touch from both sides. This game units us all, doesn't it?

That will be all! It was delayed for a while but Australia have wrapped up the contest. Their net run-rate must surely take an upward surge now and South Africa will have an ominous task ahead of them against England. Australia beat West Indies by 8 wickets with 22 deliveries to spare!

16.2 Roston Chase to David Warner, FOUR! Warner finishes it off in a rather anti-climatic fashion. Good length delivery into the pads, Warner gets a little tickle on it and beats Gayle at leg slip as the ball trickles away into the ropes. There are warm embraces everywhere on the field. Bravo, Gayle, this West Indian era. They won't defend their title but they ensured to entertain us until the end. Bravo leads the West Indies for the handshakes. Australia do their bit to keep their tournament alive. Australia won by 8 wickets (with 22 balls remaining).
