Ginger Generals win by 16 runs!

That's a comprehensive victory for the Generals. The Blasters had a good start to the innings, but once the spinners came in and dried up the scoring, they just couldn't accelerate at the back-end of the game.

After a good opening partnership, the Blasters were neck-to-neck with the Generals at 45 runs at the end of the powerplay. But once Chichester and Devon Smith were dismissed off subsequent overs, the Blasters just didn't have enough firepower in the middle order to get the finishing kick.

Chichester played well for his 29 runs off just 17 balls. Devon Smith played a cameo of 16 from 8 deliveries. But they needed at least one of the two to stay till the end for overhauling this total.

It was a true team effort from the Gingers bowling unit. All the five bowlers picked up a wicket each and were economical for the most part. Apart from Redhead and Michael, all the three bowlers went for less than 7 runs an over.

9.6 Michael Fraser to Keron Charles, OUT! CAUGHT AND BOWLED! What a way to end the game! Fired into the blockhole outside off, Charles gets underneath it and drills it straight back to the bowler who pouches it in his follow through. What a defence this has been from the Ginger Generals - they beat the Bay Leaf Blasters by 16 runs in the first game of the Spice Isle T10!
9.5 Michael Fraser to Keron Charles, FOUR BYES! Sloppy work from the keeper! Excellent slower delivery on a length in the channel, Charles gets his front foot out of line and swings across the line. He fails to make contact and the keeper fails to read the lack of pace on that as the ball keeps low and zoots through between his pads before running away to the ropes!
9.4 Michael Fraser to Keron Charles, FOUR! Slightly over pitched on the pads and Charles clips it on the up behind square as he picks out the gap. A case of too little, too late though!
9.3 Michael Fraser to Keron Charles, on a good length on off-stump, angles away past the attempted swing across the line from Charles. This should be the game!
9.2 Michael Fraser to Keron Charles, very full and angling away outside off, Charles walks down the pitch and swings across the line but to no effect as he gets beaten. Four sixes needed to tie the game now!
9.1 Michael Fraser to Denis Smith, angling into middle-stump on a good length, Smith hangs back and heaves it flat over mid-wicket for a single in the deep
Nelon Pascal has more or less sealed the game for the Generals here. He conceded just 6 runs in that over, which means Michael Fraser has 26 runs to defend in the final over.

8.6 Nelon Pascal to Markel Baptiste, RUN OUT! Baptiste is miles short of his crease! Very full and nearly into the blockhole, dug out with a whip towards deep mid-wicket. Baptiste calls Smith for the second run but they meet halfway down the pitch before passing each other and the keeper comfortably whips off the bails!
8.5 Nelon Pascal to Denis Smith, top-class bowling! Nails the yorker at the stumps and Smith can all but squeeze it out towards square leg for a single
8.4 Nelon Pascal to Markel Baptiste, low full toss at the stumps, Baptiste mistimes his whip over the leg-side as the ball rolls in front of square on the off-side for a single
8.3 Nelon Pascal to Markel Baptiste, aims for the blockhole again and angles it into the leg-stump, Baptiste looks to whip it off the bottom hand as he gives himself room but he gets cut in half instead!
8.2 Nelon Pascal to Markel Baptiste, FOUR! Much needed boundary! Gets his yorker wrong and sends down a full toss on the pads this time, Baptiste sways away and whips it through square leg as he beats the fielder inside the ring to the boundary!
Markel Baptiste replaces Olive in the middle. Right-handed batter!
8.1 Nelon Pascal to Jalon Olive, OUT! BOWLED HIM! That is as good a toe-crusher as it can get! Tailing away right into the boots and Olive fails to get underneath it as he clears his front leg and looks to whip it over mid-wicket. The ball ricochets onto the stumps and Olive has to repart!
The target is getting increasingly difficult for the Blasters. Just a boundary and five singles came off that over. The big, tall fast bowler, Pascal, comes in to bowl the penultimate over of the innings. The Blasters require 33 runs off the last two overs. They would require some big hits off this over.
