Welcome to Sportskeeda’s live coverage of match number 18 of the Spice Isle T10, 2021 between Bay Leaf Blasters and Ginger Generals!

Alright, we're half-way into the tournament and it's about time the teams that are struggling need to peak at the moment or otherwise they'd be packing their bags to go out of the tournament.

Bay Leaf Blasters who's in one such team who are languishing at the bottom of the table with just 2 wins out of the 5 games played. The Blasters won their game fair and square against Strikers chasing a mammoth target of 120, it was the skipper, Devon Smith that stood up to the occasion and then scored a blistering 65 of just 24 deliveries which had 8 boundaries and 4 sixes to go with.

Denis Smith in the middle order played a cameo to win this in a canter with over 9 balls to spare. The bowling is a bit of worry for them as they need their bowlers to step up to the occasion and get them the breakthroughs when needed.

Ginger Generals on the other hands aren't doing anything better than the Blasters, they are positioned fifth in the points table, just above the Blasters with a better net run-rate. Generals faced a humiliating defeat against the Strikers, with the ball they gave away too many and then they let them post a huge total on board.

Generals in the chase struggled in the powerplay, losing three quick wickets and were reeling at 21-3. Matthew Anil and McDonald Daniel were the only one's that looked like taking them close to the target but in the end it was too many to do for either of them and they went down by 40 runs. Generals aren't having a good time in both the departments and they need to turn things around quickly to sneak into the last four to play in the knockout stages.

From the looks of it, seems like Blasters have a better batting line-up but they have a terrible net run-rate to go with and if they have to win, they need to win big in this game to get into the top four.

Generals need to pull up their socks and do well in this all important. So sit back, relax as I, Pradeep Somashekar and my partner Vikhyat Jain will take you through all that unfolds. Toss and playing XI will be up in a jiffy!.
