A very very professional display from Bengal, as Anustup Majumdar's men really had their foot on the throats of the Services batsmen right through the innings and restricted them to 245/9 (245 all-out) in 49.4 overs and claim a dominant 71-run win. With the exception of their captain Rajat Paliwal, who scored 90(102) and all-rounder Pulkit Narang who got to a 53(58) and some lusty hitting from Diwesh Pathania who scored 20(17), there was precious little else from the other Services batsmen, who were completely tied down by the Bengal bowlers. Opening 'keeper-bat Nakul Verma struggled to a 38-ball 18, while his opening partner Ravi Chauhan similarly struggled to 9(21), while Mohit Ahlawat tried his best to inject some momentum into the innings in the middle phase with a 20(19), but neither Gahlaut Rahul Singh nor Nakul Sharma contributed heavily and perished cheaply. For the Bengal bowlers, the pick of the lot was the ever-impressive Ishan Porel, who had 2/31 in his 9 overs and was beautifully supported by the left-arm spinner Shahbaz Ahmed, who bowled his full quota of 10 overs for 2/46 as well as fellow pacers Akash Deep Mukesh Kumar, who had 2/43 in 9 overs and 2/51 in 9.4 overs respectively, while Arnab Nandi's part-time off-spin also brought him success, with figures of 1/34 in 6 overs, while Writtick Chatterjee bowled 7 overs for 35 runs & kept it tight with his other bowlers.
A good slower delivery from Mukesh Kumar and foxes Raj Bahadur Pal, who slogs across the line & Mukesh judged the catch well off his own bowling and that ends the innings for Services, as Arjun Sharma will not be able to come out to bat due to injury.
49.4 Mukesh Kumar to Raj Bahadur Pal, OUT! CAUGHT and BOWLED! Slow short ball wide of off stump. Pal swings his bat. The ball lobs in the air. Mukesh settles himself under the ball and takes a comfortable catch t win the match for his side.
49.3 Mukesh Kumar to Raj Bahadur Pal, Length ball wide of off stump. Pal hits the ball back to Mukesh.
49.2 Mukesh Kumar to Raj Bahadur Pal, Full delivery wide of off stump. Pal looks for a slog shot but fails yet again.
49.1 Mukesh Kumar to Varun Choudhary, Full delivery and Varun plays the ball to off side for a single.
A great over from Porel, who picked up a wicket while just conceding 1 run from it and now the score after 49 overs for Services is 244/8 and they need 72 runs in the last 6 balls of the match. Mukesh Kumar will bowl the last over.
