Blackcaps started off well with the bat as Waqas Akhtar takes the team off to a flier inside the powerplay. Atta Ullah also played his part of scoring 25 runs from just 15 balls with 3 fours and a six off his bat. Waqas Akhtar scored 48 runs in 36 balls but failed to make his team cross the line in the final few stages of the innings. Pawandeep joined the opener once Atta Ullah was dismissed but he scored less than run a ball adding to the scoreboard pressure.
