Brisbane Heat win by 4 wickets

Well, well. What a contest we have witnessed at our hands. This has been some really good and spirited approach from the Heat. They didn't let their heads down at any moment and continued to keep fighting, and this attitude of theirs, helped them win the match, the second of the season for them.

They had a horrendous start. Joe Burns knocked one high in the air and gave it down the throat of Manenti. Max Bryant continued to counter-attack, but he ran short of partners at the other end as Joe Denly and X-Factor Max Heazlett couldn't stick around for too long and threw away their wickets after getting a good start.

Bryant fell soon, looking to attack the medium pace of Christian. Pierson walked out in the middle with some hopes of a counter-attack back the Sixers but endured a struggle as he fell to Dwarshuis in his 19 ball-20 knock. Bazley too looked to get the big shots underway, but couldn't get much as he too could only muster 5 runs under his belt

It was all down to Lewis Gregory and Jack Wildermuth, who held their nerve in the toughest of the situation and smashed the required runs. Gregory was at his absolute hitting prowess as Wildermuth ably supported him with a quickfire 10 ball-22.

It was a rough outing for the  Sydney Sixers as they had their bowlers being carted away for runs in their overs. Dwarshuis and Christian were the two bowlers who picked up a couple of wickets but were also carted around for plenty in their spells.
18.5 Ben Dwarshuis to Jack Wildermuth, HEAT WIN!  Full-length ball on stump line and Wildermuth hits this one straight as an arrow over the bowler's head for a boundary to finish this contest
18.4 Ben Dwarshuis to Lewis Gregory, full-length ball on the stumps and Gregory has played this one down towards mid-wicket for just a single this time. Scores level!
18.3 Ben Dwarshuis to Lewis Gregory, full-length outside off-stump and Gregory lofts this one over the cover fielder for a couple of runs this time. Just 2 needed to win now
18.2 Ben Dwarshuis to Lewis Gregory, SIX! Full-length ball outside off-stump and Gregory has cleared his front-leg and send this one over the long-on fence for another maximum. Heat within touching distance now!
18.1 Ben Dwarshuis to Lewis Gregory, FOUR! SHOT! Length ball a touch slower on the pads and Gregory uses his smarts as he gets inside the line and flicks it away past fine-leg for a boundary.
The action is soaring high and the nails are getting ready to go under the teeth as 9 runs from the 18th overs bowled by Christian take the Heat closer to the target. Heat now is inching closer and closer and need 14 runs in 12 balls

17.4 Daniel Christian to Jack Wildermuth, FALLS SHORT! Length ball outside off-stump and Wildermuth pulls this one away and it falls just short of the fielder at fine-leg. There is an over throw as well as they sneak a couple overall.

17.1 Daniel Christian to Lewis Gregory, full-length ball on the pads and Gregory flicks it away down to square-leg for a couple of runs here.
A string of wides in the over form Brathwaite. The all-rounder looked to go full and wide but crossed tramline on three occasions. Helping them get away with extra runs, Brathwaite gave away 14 runs in the over. 3 overs remain and Heat need 23 runs in 18 balls
