108/9 (20.0 ov)

111/3 (17.2 ov)

Player of the match:
Faf du Plessis
Alright then, CSK move to the top of the table. KKR next face DC on Friday while CSK play RR in a couple of days. That's it from us for this game. Hope you enjoyed our live coverage. Do join us back tomorrow as
face KXIP. Until then, it's a good bye from us!
Deepak Chahar (Man of the Match)
: I knew we were going to play a lot of games in Chennai and that's why I started practicing the yorkers and slower balls. I play a lot of games like TT with MS Dhoni and try to learn a lot.
: I've been here [Chennai] for a very long time. I think the fans really love CSK and it's a special connection and they have adopted me very well. It's become like the first year when we cribbed about the track but end up winning. I don't think we want to play on wickets like these. It becomes difficult batting first but tends to get easier with the dew coming in. Harbhajan and Tahir are like wine as they are getting better with age. Bhajji has done well in the games he's played and Tahir has done well too.
: Not enough runs on the board. These kind of games are tricky because you never know what kind of score to set, especially with the dew. Yes, after losing four wickets in the powerplay, you are behind the eight-ball. But credit to Andre Russell who showed maturity once again. Few positives. The way spinners bowled with the wet ball, Russell ofcourse and the way we reacted defending a low total.
Some flurry of boundaries towards the end but it turned out to be a slugfest. 108 was never going to be enough and CSK have cantered home. Shane Watson started off well but couldn't really kick on. Raina came and went as he failed to convert yet another start. Rayudu scored a 31-ball 21 while Faf du Plessis held one end up and kept the scoreboard ticking. But none of the batsmen showed intent to make a move on and eventually, CSK romped home in the 18th over. They now move to the top of the points table with 10 points. KKR bowlers struggled and they found it tough to cope with a wet ball.
Wides and CSK win with 16 balls to spare.
17.3 Wide Sunil Narine to Faf du Plessis. Off break length ball, down leg side on the front foot working, Play and Miss (Leg Side) to fine leg for 5 runs.
17.2 Sunil Narine to Faf du Plessis. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the front foot working, hit pad to short extra cover for no runs, fielded by Lynn.
17.1 Sunil Narine to Kedar Jadhav. Off break length ball, outside off stump on the back foot pushing, to cover for 1 run, fielded by Lynn.
Just four needed now.

16.6 Harry Gurney to Kedar Jadhav. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot working, to deep backward square leg for 1 run, fielded by Rana.
Four more. Faf is trying to finish this in a hurry now. Short delivery and the South African skipper pulls it to the fine-leg fence.
16.5 Harry Gurney to Faf du Plessis. Slower length ball, to leg on the front foot flick, inside edge in the air uncontrolled to deep mid wicket for 1 run, fielded by Rana.
16.4 FOUR! Harry Gurney to Faf du Plessis. Short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, well timed in the air under control past fine leg for 4 runs.
Faf makes full use of the free-hit as he smashes a low full-toss over cover for a boundary.
16.3 FREE HIT. FOUR! Harry Gurney to Faf du Plessis. Full toss, off stump on the front foot driving, well timed in the air under control past deep extra cover for 4 runs.
16.3 No ball Harry Gurney to Kedar Jadhav. Back of a length, down leg side on the back foot working, inside edge to short leg for 1 run, fielded by Gurney.
Harry Gurney is giving absolutely no pace for the batsmen to work with.
16.2 Harry Gurney to Kedar Jadhav. Slower ball short, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, Gloved to silly point for no runs, fielded by Rana.
16.1 Harry Gurney to Kedar Jadhav. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, to short extra cover for no runs, fielded by Uthappa.
