That's it then. Hope you enjoyed out coverage. Bottom-placed RCB take on KKR in Kolkata at the Eden Gardens tomorrow. Do join us for that game as well. Until then, it's a goodbye from us!
Hardik Pandya (Man of the Match): The way I'm hitting the ball right now, I've never hit so well. I've been working hard in the nets and it has come off. I like to keep the basics straight and maintaining the shape. I'm just using my brain pretty well this time and reading the wicket well. I hope I can keep going like this throughout the season.
Rohit Sharma: We thought 140 was a good score, that was the talk initially and lucky for us we had wickets in hand towards the end. After getting that total, we knew we were in the game. It was a perfect one and a clinical effort. In the recent ODI against Australia, it was tough to chase and we thought if we could get 140-150, we would be in the game. Rahul Chahar is smart in terms of what he wants to execute. He is very confident bowling to left-handers. If you show confidence as captain in him, he will deliver. The gameplan will change according to the opposition and venue.
Shreyas Iyer: It's really important to win home games. These tracks are definitely going to play slow. They outplayed us in all departments. We practice at the nets and even those wickets are slow. But when you are here, it's a totally different wicket. We would've chased as we have been chasing well. 140 would have been an ideal total. It wasn't easy to bat in the second innings.
Delhi started this chase very promisingly with Shikhar Dhawan going great guns. Prithvi Shaw struggled but the way Dhawan was going it was a warning for MI. However, the introduction of spin changed everything and once Delhi lost Dhawan, things were bad to worse. Rahul Chahar was brilliant with the ball as he picked up a three-fer. Krunal Pandya chipped in and so did Malinga and Jayant Yadav. However, it might've been Hardik's cameo and those last three overs that proved to be the difference.
It's all over, MI win by 40 runs and move to the second place on the points table.
