With that, we come to the end of the coverage from the match center. Hope you enjoyed it. We have one more match from the Emirates D10 tournament coming your way in just about ten minutes. Do join us for that. For now, it's Bala signing off. Good night!
The victory doesn't alter the position in the table for Emirates Blues, but the two points are certainly valuable for them. The Red find themselves in a spot of bother with just a solitary victory from 7 matches now.
Emirates Blues 109/4 (9.4 overs) Harshit Seth 37*(11) | Yusuf Khan 34*(23) Muhammad Abubakar 2/12 (1) | Uddish Suri 1/10 (2)
If you have only seen the last couple of overs, it would seem like it was a comfortable chase for the Blues. But it was a rollercoaster ride through the innings. The opening pair gave them a good start with Abdullah Saleem blazing away and Yusuf Khan playing second fiddle. Then Muhammad Abubakar rocked them by picking up two wickets in two balls.
Yusuf built a partnership in the middle with keeper-batter Yash Sabnani, but just as the pair was taking them to a comfortable territory, the Red struck two back-to-back blows once again to derail the chase. The defending side seemed to be the favourites at this point.
However, Harshit Seth had different plans. He came into the crease and found boundaries consistently. While his partners were falling at one end, Yusuf Khan maintained his calm and produced a match-altering partnership with Harshit in the end.
The two left-arm spinners, Abhinav Vishnu and Uddish Suri bowled a brilliant spell in the middle, conceding just 21 runs and picking up two wickets in their spell of 4 overs. But there was not a lot of support from the rest of the bowling unit.
Emirates Blues beat Emirate Red by 6 wickets with two balls to spare!
9.4 Clinton Berkenshaw to Harshit Seth, FOUR! Blues win! Short ball outside off. Harshit pulls but it comes off the cue end of the bat and races away to the thirdman fence
9.3 Clinton Berkenshaw to Yousuf Khan, length ball on top of the stumps. Blocks it on the off-side and scampers through for one
9.2 Clinton Berkenshaw to Yousuf Khan, FOUR! Brilliant hit! Length ball outside the off-stump. Keeps his balance and hammers it over extra cover. One bounce into the fence
9.1 Clinton Berkenshaw to Yousuf Khan, FOUR! Advantage Blues! Short ball angling into the batter. He gets inside the line and pulls it past short fineleg
We had a bit of issues with the coverage. We are now rejoining the action in the last over with the Blues requiring 10 runs to win!
