Player of the match:
That's it from this game then! Hope you've enjoyed our live coverage. England are now in a very tricky situation at the moment. They now need to win both their remaining games to ensure a place in the semi-final. Meanwhile, Australia have qualified and have moved to the top of the table. Tomorrow's another big game with New Zealand taking on a spirited Pakistan. Do join in for that game! Until then, it's goodbye from us!
Aaron Finch [Winning Captain]
: Very happy. You can't win the tournament if you don't make the semis and that's the first part ticked off. We've played some good cricket. England are a standout side and are a team that can take you apart with both bat and ball. It was nice to find a way to keep getting wickets through that middle part as well. [On Behrendorff] To keep coming back and picking up was outstanding. We are confident about the way we are going.
Eoin Morgan [Losing Captain]
: We were outplayed. We bowled well upfront but were a bit unlucky. Australia played and missed a lot. We felt the wicket got a bit better but it was still challenging. Losing early wickets isn't ideal and not managing to get substantial partnerships that contribute to winning the game. The wicket this morning was soft. Aaron Finch played really well and capitalized on the start that he got. I thought we pulled them back really well and to restrict them to 280 was a good effort. Our faith is in our own hands in the next two games we play.
Aaron Finch [Man of the Match]
: I didn't play too badly. Any time you contribute to a team win, I think that's the most important thing. Woakesy bowled a hell of a spell and to get through that and set a foundation with Davey was nice. There are teams against which you have confidence. It was seaming and we played quite well. We made sure we were tight as we could be.
England would rue the fact that they didn't pick up early wickets when the conditions were ideal for the fast bowlers. Woakes bowled well but Archer and Wood were on the shorter side and the Australian openers played well. They set the foundation. Warner scored a fifty while Finch got his second ton of this World Cup. A cameo from Crey towards the end took them to a par score. But then none of England batsmen apart from Stokes really stood up. Sixth win for Australia then and they've become the first team to qualify for the semi-finals.
285 was a competitive total and the Australian pacers started off brilliantly. They outbowled their England bowlers easily as they bowled in the right areas and reaped rewards. Starc and Behrendorff nipped out three wickets in the powerplay which set up up the game for the Aussies. Stokes waged a lone battle as wickets tumbled around him and even he was dismissed to a fabulous yorker from Mitchell Starc which almost ended his and England's fightback. Behrendorff took a five-wicket haul while Starc picked up four wickets.
