Commentary
A fairly convincing victory in the end for England. Ireland suffered a massive blow in the very first over of their pursuit of defending a below-par total of 172 as they saw their lead fast bowler, Barry McCarthy, limping off the field just five balls into their innings. McBrine who was called in to operate with the new ball, struck early as he dismissed Jonny Bairstow in the third over. Jason Roy then was accompanied by James Vince and the duo started to show signs of cutting loose, but, Roy fell against the run of play as he was adjudged LBW to Craig Young for 24. James Vince after striking a couple of crisp drives fell soon after for 25 as he was dismissed by Craig Young. Tom Banton didn’t impress as well, falling for just 11. England were 78-4 and in a spot of bother. Sam Billings was then joined by Eoin Morgan who decided to come in at Number 6 as the duo weathered out the tense phase with a lot of calm before cutting loose.

Sam Billings looked in complete control as he notched up his third ODI fifty and one that could be instrumental in his career. He finished with 67 not out as Morgan finished the game with a six as he remained not out on 36. The duo put on a 95 run stand in fairly quick time as England completed the chase with more than 22 overs and with 6 wickets in hand to go 1-0 up in three-match series.

So that’s all from me, Prashanth Satish, and my colleague, Shashwat Kumar. Stay Tuned to Sportskeeda for coverage of all the live cricketing action from across the globe. Till we meet again, Stay safe and Goodbye!

26.1 Gareth Delany to Eoin Morgan, length outside off and Morgan edges his reverse sweep. Luckily for him, the edge falls short of firs slip
Another expensive over from Young as he concedes 12 runs off that one. This partnership is now worth 79 runs in just 74 balls
