It wasn't the steepest of targets, but it was certainly one that was tricky. France had every chance to be optimistic about a thrilling victory, especially after taking the openers in the space of two overs. Once Angus Guy departed to some guile from Zain Ahmad, Scotland were in a bit of a fix, but Liam Naylor ensured that there would be no hiccups from his end. He marshalled the run-chase by himself, cutting and piercing the off-side field at will. The middle-order gave him some support, and France saw their chances keep slipping away.

A 3-run penultimate over, which included the wicket of the well-set Norwell, piqued some interest in the game with 8 required off the last over. But Muhaymen Majeed ensured that there were to be no more bumps in the chase, smashing one out of the ground, and then ambling through for the winning runs.
