That is it from us at Sportskeeda. Hope you all enjoyed this fixture and do not forget to join us for tomorrow's game between the Mumbai Indians and the Kings XI Punjab. For now, it is goodnight and goodbye.
Shreyas Iyer is the Man of the Match!
Zaheer Khan, the winning captain, says, "We had so many close games. While we were fielding, we are out of the tournament. Shreyas was outstanding today. You have to take these things in stride and work harder. We have two more games. We want to win both the games and finish off on a high. It's not one thing that doesn't go right. IPL is such a hectic tournament. You can't lose the momentum. We have to think hard."
The Catch of the Match award goes to Corey Anderson. The Maximum Sixes award goes to Aaron Finch. The Stylish Player of the Day goes to Finch, as well.
Time for the post-match presentation ceremony.
Iyer deserved a hundred but he won't mind not getting there as his team won in the end.
Suresh Raina says, " I think we tried everything but unfortunately we ended up on the losing side. Shreyas Iyer batted really well. After getting so many wickets up front, we did not capitalise and ended up giving so many boundaries. We tried our best. Boys gave whatever they had. We have been losing close games, that is so disappointing. Like you have mentioned a great game of cricket. The wicket was playing well, later on, We gave them so many loose balls, after getting wickets, probably that cost us the game."
A dead rubber but what an exciting contest this has been!

Set an imposing target of 196, Delhi were off to a very poor start. Both Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant were dismissed cheaply and things were not looking too good for them. Karun Nair and Shreyas Iyer, though, rebuilt the innings with a good partnership.

Nair, however, got out as he went for a big shot. After that, three wickets fell in quick succession, two of which were resulted by some fine fielding efforts from Ravindra Jadeja. It looked like the Lions would notch up a rare win, defending a total for the first time this season.

Iyer was not one to give up without a fight. He led a solo attack as he took charge against the Lions’ bowlers. A brief cameo Pat Cummins certainly helped his cause but the Aussie was dismissed with the match still hanging very much in balance.

Iyer hit some brilliant shots looked well on course to complete his 100. But he was castled by a brilliant inswing yorker from Thampi in the last over for a very well-made 96. The Lions looked like they were going to take home two points but then Amit Mishra walked down and hit two consecutive boundaries to win it for his team!

Mishra ji take a bow! Shreyas Iyer's innings doesn't go in vain as Delhi Daredevils win by 2 wickets with two balls to spare. What a match! What an ending!
19.4 FOUR! Basil Thampi to Amit Mishra. Slower ball full toss, outside off stump moves in front Scoop, well timed past fine leg for 4 runs.
19.3 FOUR! Basil Thampi to Amit Mishra. Full toss, to leg down the track flick, well timed past deep mid wicket for 4 runs. Down the track from Mishra and he gets a low full toss, he puts it away through mid-wicket.
Mishra and Shami are in the middle. Delhi need 7 runs off 4 balls to win the match.
19.2 OUT! Bowled. Basil Thampi to Shreyas Iyer. Yorker, outside off stump on the front foot flick, inside edge. Oh boy! What has he done here? Brilliant inswinging yorker, right on the money. Iyer could do little about it,
19.1 Basil Thampi to Shreyas Iyer. Length ball, middle stump on the front foot flick, hit pad to fine leg for 2 runs.
A good over from Faulkner! After conceding 21 runs in his last over, he concedes only 6 in the penultimate over of the innings. Delhi need 9 from the last over. Thankfully for them, Shreyas Iyer is on strike. Can he reach his century and win the match for Delhi?

18.5 FOUR! James Faulkner to Mohammed Shami. Full toss, outside off stump on the front foot cutting, outside edge past third man for 4 runs. Fortune for Shami as he slices it but the fielder misjudges the spin and it goes for four.

18.3 James Faulkner to Shreyas Iyer. Half volley, middle stump on the front foot driving, back to bowler for no runs, fielded by Faulkner.

18.1 James Faulkner to Shreyas Iyer. Slower ball half volley, outside off stump on the front foot driving, to long off for 1 run, fielded by Finch.
Tight over from Thampi as he restricted the boundaries. Still, Delhi are holding the cards at the moment. They need just 15 runs from the last 12 balls. Right down to the wire, this one.
