With that win, the Punjab Kings have jumped up to fifth place on the points table. Well, that's all we have for tonight! It was a slow-burner for good parts of it but tell you what, the blockbuster clash lined up tomorrow promises a lot more excitement. Kagiso Rabada (4/33) is the Player of the Match. Here's what he has to say: Finally, we got the win. After being a bit inconsistent in this tournament, we felt that we just wanted to string a couple of wins under our belt. We bowled first again, something that we've been used to doing. As a collective, we bowled well to restrict them to 144 and in the end, our batters did the job. At the end of the day, you still need the bowlers to bowl as a collective and as a team, we had a good outing. At the end of the day, you can't get too greedy. You stick to the process and what works and if you get a wicket, you take that. That's all I try to do. (Advice to Arshdeep) He's got a lot of nerve. He's shown that, especially in the death overs. He's got a good head on his shoulders and he works hard and reads the game pretty decently for someone who doesn't have a lot of experience. He's able to execute his skill and he's done it game in-game out, so you don't have to say much more to who is performing that way. Every now and then, he will ask questions. He'll ask deliberate questions that are not vague, which just shows that he knows where he wants to go and what he wants to work on. I'm not saying too much to him. As a bowler, you have bowl in all stages of the game. It's just about figuring out how to be the most effective in each stage of the game and to perform in each stage of the game. Sometimes, it maybe doesn't work out for you in the first or second stage but the perfect game is when you perform when in all three stages. It's just about being as effective as possible in all three stages of the game.

Mayank Agarwal (Punjab Kings): We would like to string a few good performances. No better time to get a few back-to-back wins than now. Obviously, we're trying to get the best out of Jonny. He's done well opening the innings, so I said it's okay, I can anchor the innings at four and he can go and express himself. With Livi, it was pretty clear because Shikhar was going to bat through and Livi could go out there to play the way he wants to play. It was nice the way he played and got us to the score quickly. When we got to that position where to two points were clear, we could score as quickly as possible. It (NRR) was there at the back of our minds. We bowled exceedingly well and got early wickets to choke them in between. That really helped us restrict them to a below-par score. The partnership between Shikhar and Bhanu was extremely important for us.

Liam Livingstone (Punjab Kings): (How big can he hit them?) Swinging hard enough (grins). I didn't think I was going to bat at one point tonight. Nice to go in and hit a few out of the middle. I thought Shikhar played beautifully. Him and Bhanuka set it up nicely with a partnership to set it up for us. It's a big win for us, we needed it. We've played some bad games over the last couple of games so it's nice to turn it around. I went up to Mayank and said I fancied going in before him. He told me I would go out if Bhanuka gets out and Mayank would go in if Shikhar gets out. It's good to know our roles. It helps a lot having Mayank in the middle order - if we lose a couple of wickets we have some stability in the middle. It's a massive win that will lift the camp a lot. It's nice to get a win. It's all about learning - it's very hard to just go in and play the way we wanted to play. As a new team to start and be really successful was always going to be a big ask. I feel we're learning as we've gone - we played a little smarter today. Sometimes you've got to play that way especially on a pitch like that. I thought Shikhar played beautifully. We spoke about nullifying Rashid and he did that lovely. It's about still being as positive as we can but making sure we choose the right moments.

Hardik Pandya (Gujarat Titans Captain): Obviously we were not even close to par but we batted first. I think 170 would have been ideal but we lost too many wickets. I absolutely back our decision to bat first since we need to put ourselves in those situations and come out of our comfort zone. We've done well chasing but when the big games come, if we have to bat first we have to know how to go about it. It was an exercise we wanted to try - we knew the new ball might do something but to be honest we lost too many wickets. If you lose wickets irrespective of the conditions the batters will find it tough. But it's okay - this loss is a learning curve for us. Even when we were winning we were always talking about getting better. We will definitely have a chat on where we haven't gone well and look to improve going forward. Winning and losing is part of sport and more often than not we've come on the winning side.

Punjab Kings (Shikhar Dhawan - 62 off 53, Lockie Ferguson - 1/29) beat the Gujarat Titans (Sai Sudharsan - 65 off 50, Kagiso Rabada - 4/33) by 8 wickets.

A welcome victory for the Punjab Kings as they get back to winning ways. That finishing flourish will not only give their net run rate a boost but also some much-needed confidence, with a commanding performance against the table-toppers. After opting to bat first, the Titans found themselves in a tricky situation with an under-par total on the board.

In reply, the reshuffled Punjab Kings batting order ensured that there were no hiccups despite the early wicket of Bairstow, who opened the batting tonight. Dhawan led the way with a classy half-century, while Rajapaksa continued to excel in the number three slot as they stitched together an 87-run stand. Liam Livingstone added the finishing touches to the innings with some monster hits, smashing 28 runs off the final over of this contest.

With such an under-par total on board and the dew coming into play, it was always going to be a tall order for the Titans to keep the Kings at bay. Shami got an early breakthrough to dismiss Bairstow but that was the only success he enjoyed tonight. Ferguson added a wicket to his tally as well, but that was more of a consolation really.

Kagiso Rabada was the star of the show for the Kings with another four-wicket haul in the contest and personally, my pick for the player of the match. Dhawan's unbeaten 62* might be up there in contention though. Stick around to find out who takes the award and to hear from the presentations!
