A dominating win for the Hobart Hurricanes as they move to the top of the table! The Renegades, on the other hand suffered their second successive loss.

Melbourne Renegades struggled to get off to a good start courtesy some lively bowling from James Faulkner and Scott Boland but a brilliant 109-run partnership between Rilee Rossouw and Sam Harper got them to a reasonable total of 157 from their 20 overs, which always seemed below par but gave them a glimmer of hope.

The Hobart Hurricanes didn't make things easy for themselves early on as they lost two quick wickets, but a dazzling batting performance from Ben McDermott alongside contributions from Peter Handscomb and Colin Ingram, turned the game into the Hurricanes favour, before McDermott with some help from Tim David, completed the formalities.

Hobart Hurricanes win by 6 wickets.

That's it from us today, see you next time!
Tim David finishes things off in style! Two short deliveries from Kane Richardson and David's spanked them away for back-to-back sixes! That innings belonged to Ben McDermott who ended with 89 not out.

Hobart Hurricanes win by 6 wickets.
17.4 Kane Richardson to Tim David, SIX! GAME SET AND MATCH! Back of a length delivery on the middle stump, David gets on his backfoot, hits the ball hard, and sends the ball sailing into the stands to seal the deal for Hurricanes, who win the match by 6 wickets
17.3 Kane Richardson to Tim David, SIX! Drops the ball short there. David uses his tall stature, hits the ball hard and it goes all the way sailing into the stands for a maximum. 3 needed now
17.2 Kane Richardson to Ben McDermott, full-length ball outside off, drives the ball with the toe end of the bat for a single, courtesy a misfield
17.1 Kane Richardson to Tim David, back of a length delivery on top of off, cut away to deep extra cover for a single
Mature batting by the Hobart Hurricanes batsmen as they're just easily rotating strike now. There's no need to play a big shot and the game is theirs to lose. Melbourne Renegades gave themselves a chance with the early wickets but McDermott's magnificent batting performance took the game away from them compltetely.
