IND vs BAN Match Result
- India vs Bangladesh 2019 2nd T20I
153/6 (20.0 ov)
154/2 (15.4 ov)
India won by 8 wickets
Player of the match:
So, that's it from Sportskeeda for today! Join us for the 3rd T20I on Sunday at Nagpur. Till then, it is a warm goodbye.
While Rohit Sharma definitely deserves a lot of credit for his stunning 85-run knock, one shouldn't forget the bowling attack's effort to restrict Bangladesh to an under par total on what was a fantastic Rajkot track. Even though Bangladesh promised to get somewhere around 170-180 after the powerplay, Yuzvendra Chahal helped India to come back into the match strongly.
That's it. India have won the match comfortably by 8 wickets with 26 balls to spare. After the powerplay during Bangladesh's inning, India have totally dominated the proceedings and hence this result shouldn't come across as a surprise at all.
A target of 154 always seemed at least 20-30 runs short but a stunning knock from Rohit Sharma made the total look ridiculously small. In his 100th T20I, Rohit Sharma not only proved that the Bangladeshi batsmen failed on a superb batting track but also gave yet another proof of why he is one of the world's most destructively elegant batsmen. The Bangladeshi bowlers did help with some indisciplined bowling but nothing can take the credit away from one of Rohit Sharma's most beautiful knocks. All this while, Shikhar Dhawan wasn't at his best but he tried his best to ensure that Rohit had the majority of the strike. Once the duo got out, Shreyas Iyer quickly finished off the match with some awesome strokeplay. On the whole, Bangladesh were outplayed throughout and would do well to quickly forget this day and get ready for the final T20I at Nagpur.

Majestic back-foot punch from Shreyas Iyer! Four more!
The back-foot punch is one of the hardest shots for a batsman to execute and Shreyas Iyer has made it look like a piece of cake. It looked like no more than a push but the ball raced away to the fence. He is batting beautifully here.

Shreyas Iyer gets underway with a swat to long-on. Six runs to get off the mark!
Over-pitched delivery from Aminul Islam and an excellent player of spin bowling like Shreyas Iyer will always fancy his chances to secure six runs of such balls. Got underneath the ball and smashed it over long-on's head.
