IND vs PAK Match Result
- Cricket World Cup 2019 Match 22
336/5 (50.0 ov)
212/6 (40.0 ov)
India won by 89 runs (DLS Method)
Player of the match:
That's all from this game then. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. Do join in tomorrow as well as West Indies play Bangladesh. Until then, it's goodbye from us!
Rohit Sharma is the Man of the Match for his knock of 140.
It was the first innings that set up the game for India. They were without their big match player - Shikhar Dhawan. However, Rohit Sharma stood up and scored a fabulous 140. KL Rahul chipped in well and it was yet another day as Kohli scored another half-century. India did falter towards the death with the bat but 336 was always going to be enough.
Pakistan have never been the best chasing team. They have always struggled and this game was no different. India lost Bhuvneshwar Kumar early to a hamstring injury. However, Vijay Shankar filled in that void really well as he picked up a wicket first ball.
Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam steadied the ship and were threatening to set the platform. However, Kuldeep Yadav's spell followed by back to back wickets for Hardik Pandya changed the game for India. Since then, Pakistan never and looked out of the contest. The rain arrived and reduced the game to 40 overs. However, it was a mere formality as Pakistan needed 136 runs from five overs when they returned to the field.
That's that then. It was just a formality once they returned from the rain break. Thus. it's
in World Cups and Pakistan continue to go back home winless against India in World Cup cricket.
PAK: 212/6(RR 5.30)
. 1 1 1 1 .
39.6 Hardik Pandya to Imad Wasim. Off cutter back of a length, middle stump moves in front Scoop, missed to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Dhoni.
Last ball of the game.....

39.4 Hardik Pandya to Imad Wasim. Off cutter back of a length, down leg side on the back foot pulling, to long on for 1 run.

In the slot and bang, straight down the ground for four.
38.1 FOUR! Jasprit Bumrah to Imad Wasim. Length ball, down leg side on the front foot driving, well timed past long on for 4 runs.
India's fielding has been good throughout this game. However, the intensity seems to have dropped. There was some really sloppy work in that last over.
PAK: 196/6(RR 5.16)

KL Rahul has dropped an easy chance
! Slog sweep from Shadab but he top-edges it and Rahul running in from the deep shells an easy chance as he takes his eyes off the ball.
37.4 Yuzvendra Chahal to Shadab Khan. Leg spinner length ball, outside off stump on the front foot slog sweeping, top edge in the air uncontrolled to deep mid wicket for 2 runs, dropped catch by Rahul.

37.2 Yuzvendra Chahal to Imad Wasim. Leg spinner half volley, middle stump on the front foot Slog, to long on for 2 runs.
Chahal has been a bit off-colour today. He's bowled a lot of hit-me balls and most of them have been duly put away, just like this one.
37.1 FOUR! Yuzvendra Chahal to Imad Wasim. Googly back of a length, to leg on the back foot driving, well timed in the air under control past deep extra cover for 4 runs.
37.1 Wide Yuzvendra Chahal to Imad Wasim. Googly length ball, outside off stump on the back foot Leave, Left to wicketkeeper for 1 run, fielded by Dhoni.
That's drilled down the ground, past mid-off for a boundary. A powerful hit from Shadab! However, the game is way beyond Pakistan's reach.
