India vs South Africa live commentary

South Africa lost their last eight wickets for just 52 runs. It was just there where the game was lost. It was a champions-elect performance from the Indians as it was temperament which separated the two sides today. India played like they were supposed to and South Africa too lived up to their "C-word" tag.
That's it for us as we'll be back soon for the coverage of the next virtual quarter-final between Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Stay tuned and I, Sumedh Pande, will bring you all the happenings from tomorrow's game from 2.15PM. Goodnight and don't forget to tune into Sportskeeda for all the news and updates related to cricket.
Virat Kohli: "Our bowlers were spot on. It was good to get AB so early in his inning. It was also important for someone to stay till the end and Dhawan did his bit to perfection. Also, a good short cameo from Yuvi to go into the semis with a good knock. We like the stadium in Birmingham as it suits how we like to play. We have to learn from this game as well as every game of cricket teaches you something."
AB De Villiers: "Very disappointed to finish this tournament in such a way. Kudos to India for playing better than us. We were under pressure from the word go. They bowled brilliantly and we had some soft dismissals which led to our loss in such a way."
Jasprit Bumrah: "Everyone was waiting for this game. But we wanted to be calm in order to execute our plans perfectly and it all worked out for us. We started well with the ball and it was exciting for me to ball with the new ball. No movement was available so we decided on bowling at a tight length. This was our primary idea. It was a good decision to bowl first as the pitch has not been helping to the pacers."
Man of the match - Jasprit Bumrah (for his spell of 28/2)
Second innings summary -
India 193/2 (Dhawan 78, Kohli 76*; Tahir 37/1, Morkel 38/1)
Yuvraj Singh finishes off in style (Ravi Shastri style) as India are through to the semifinals of the Champions Trophy after an all-round performance with the bat and ball sees them beat South Africa in a fiery way. A performance truly of the ilk of the champions! The Blues will now face Bangladesh in the semis in Cardiff as another knockout game beckons Kohli's men. It's party time now at the Oval as India have humbled the Proteas by eight wickets.
