The pitch had enough for the batsmen and bowlers yesterday. The ball came onto the bat intially but as the inning progressed, the spinners tightened their grip around the match.
Thunderstorms are predicted during this game but the chances of rain are quite less. The humidity levels are forecasted to be quite high.
Both these teams had a miserable last season as they failed to make it to the playoffs and struggled to find the right momentum. The Zouks finished fifth on the points table with only three wins in 10 games whereas the Tallawahs, on the other hand, lost 8 matches and won only 2. However, its a new tournament and every team has to start from scratch and Tallawahs and Zouks will be looking to bury the demons and start off on a positive note here.

Jamaica Tallawahs x-factor Andre Russell has the capability to turn any game on its head and the team-mangement will be hoping that unlike the last season, Russell comes to the party this time around and salavage the ship of Tallawahs which only won 2 matches in the last season.
Don't forget to tune into our coverage of the next match today at 05.30 p.m. local time (3.00 a.m. IST) between Guyana Amazon Warriors and St Kitts and Nevis Patriots.
This is Nikhil Kulkarni, along with my colleague Abhinav singing off!.
Asif Ali has been adjudged the man of the match for his excellent innings of 47 off 27 balls.
Jamaica Tallawahs struggled at the start of the innings. They lost two quick wickets and were reeling at 25/2 after 4 overs. Glenn Philips and the captain Rovman Powell steadied the ship with some terrific shots and scored quick runs. Both the batsman perished after 11 overs. Asif Ali came into bat and batted sensibly. He stayed till the end and made sure that they got through the chase along with Carlos Brathwaite who played a short entertaining cameo at the end. Asif Ali scored 47 off 27 balls.
Jamaica Tallawahs always had the firepower to chase this down and they needed someone to bat sensibly. They will be happy with the win tonight and are already looking like a formidable team.
St Lucia Zouks will be disappointed with the way they batted. They looked solid at halfway stage of their batting but failed to finish off well. They were short by 30 to 40 runs at the end. Their bowlers did well to take the game till the end but the score was not enough. They have a lot to go back and improve and also think of bringing some good finishers into the playing 11 for the next match.
18.5 Obed McCoy to Asif Ali, FOUR! length ball outside off, angling away from the Pakistani who holds his shape and chips the ball over extra cover fielder for a beautiful boundary to seal the victory for Tallawahs! An excellent little hand from Asif who glued the inning together!
18.5 Obed McCoy to Asif Ali, bowled way outside off, WIDE called! The Zouks have given up!
18.4 Obed McCoy to Carlos Braithwaite, back of length delivery, Braithwaite waits for the ball for an eternity and then guides it to short third man for a quick single to inch closer to victory
18.3 Obed McCoy to Asif Ali, short ball yet again but pulled straight to the long leg fielder who keeps the batsmen limited to a single
18.2 Obed McCoy to Asif Ali, FOUR! short and fast on the body down the leg and hooked behind square for a boundary to nearly close the game for Tallawahs! Asif Ali has played a brilliant little hand here!
18.1 Obed McCoy to Asif Ali, banged in short! but the ball kept low and trapped Ali on the thigh pad! Peculiar delivery! No run taken! McCoy starts off with a change-up!
What an eventful over, a boundary, and a huge drop catch of Brathwaite by Sammy and followed by a huge six after the drop catch. That catch would have turned the match in St Lucia Zouks favor. 16 runs coming off the last over and it now looks an easy chase. Jamaica Tallawahs 149/5 after 18 overs. They need 10 runs off 12 balls.
17.6 Scott Kuggeleijn to Carlos Braithwaite, SIX! waist high-short ball and the big man has no problem going deep in the crease and clobbering the ball over long on for a humongous SIX with minimal effort!
17.5 Scott Kuggeleijn to Carlos Braithwaite, length ball on middle and leg, pulled around to deep midwicket for a quick brace
17.4 Scott Kuggeleijn to Carlos Braithwaite, DROPPED! short ball outside off and cut away to backward point where the skipper Daren Sammy gobbled up the all-important catch of Carlos Braithwaite! Double taken
17.3 Scott Kuggeleijn to Asif Ali, slow short ball, nearly deceives the Pakistani player who drags it meekly to short fine leg for a single
17.2 Scott Kuggeleijn to Carlos Braithwaite, back of length delivery outside off and dabbed to backward point for a solitary run
17.1 Scott Kuggeleijn to Carlos Braithwaite, FOUR! Missed the yorker and Carlos Braithwaite hanging back in the crease slaps the ball ferociously over mid off for a FLAT-boundary!
Huge wicket of Andre Russel in the over. Jamaica Tallawahs still have Asif Ali and Carlos Brathwaite. They will be the key for this chase. Jamaica Tallawahs 133/5 after 17 overs. They need 26 runs off 18 balls.
16.6 Kesrick Williams to Asif Ali, CHEEKY! slow ball on the stumps, Asif Ali shuffled across the stumps and paddled the ball over Fletcher for an all-important boundary!
16.5 Kesrick Williams to Carlos Braithwaite, slow ball outside off and nudged cheekily to third man for a single! Balls are running out!
16.4 Kesrick Williams to Asif Ali, low fulltoss and bludgeoned down the ground for a solitary run
