That's it from us for today. We will have a doubleheader tomorrow. Join us early for the Lahore Qalandars vs Peshawar Zalmi game which starts at 02:30 p.m. IST. This is Bala and Maanas signing off. Good night!
Arshad Iqbal has been adjudged the Player of the Match for his spell of 3 for 16 from 4 overs.
It was the bowlers who set the match up for the Karachi Kings. They have some inexperience but certainly showed that there is plenty of talent in there. This is just the sort of start any team would hope for in a season.

The same cannot be said for the Gladiators. They might have a relook at the batting order. They need some experience in the middle-order and might think about bringing Sarfraz Ahmed down with Chris Gayle opening the innings. It is difficult to come back from such a loss. But, in another sense, it is good to have such a nightmare of a game happening right at the beginning, rather than at the business end of the tournament.
The defending champions have started the season off in style. A complete team performance this from the Kings. After restricting the Gladiators to 121, they hardly broke a sweat in this chase, ultimately reaching the target in 13.5 overs with seven wickets to spare.

Mohammad Hasnain dealt an early blow sending back Sharjeel Khan in the first over. After a shaky start, Joe Clarke teed off and scored a cameo of 23-ball 46 which shifted the balance of the game completely in the Kings' favour.

Babar Azam was steady, picking up singles and scoring occasional boundaries, keeping the scoreboard ticking. After he was dismissed by Hasnain, the veteran Afghan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi came in and decided to finish the game quickly. He smoked the ball over the fence three times in the 14th over, scoring 30 runs off just 14 balls and finishing the game off.

Mohammad Hasnain was the pick of the bowlers and the biggest or the only positive coming out of this game for the Gladiators. He finished with figures of 2 for 18 in four overs. Usman Shinwari and Mohammad Nawaz bowled well conceding just 21 runs in their four overs. Qais Ahmed bore the fury of Joe Clarkes cameo, conceding 27 runs off his first over and conceding 43 runs in the end off three overs.
Karachi Kings win by 7 wickets with 37 balls to spare!
13.5 Ben Cutting to Mohammad Nabi, SIX! The President finishes it off in style! The Karachi Kings behind their title defence with a win first up! An absolute gift form Cutting as he bowls a full toss on the middle stump. Nabi accepts it with glee as he smokes that over the square leg region for a huge maximum! The fielder in the deep can only watch it sail into the stands!
13.4 Ben Cutting to Colin Ingram, full ball outside off, Ingram leans in and drives that to sweeper cover for a single
13.3 Ben Cutting to Mohammad Nabi, length ball on the off stump, Nabi looks to heave it but mistimes it down to long on for a single.
13.2 Ben Cutting to Mohammad Nabi, SIX MORE! 'The President' has come to the party! Short ball on the middle stump, Nabi gets into position in a flash and dispatches that over the square leg region for a huge maximum! That was flat, barely rising from the surface
13.1 Ben Cutting to Mohammad Nabi, SIX! BANG! Welcomes the new bowler with a huge maximum! Length ball on the off stump, Nabi shuffles across and launches that into the stands over mid-wicket! That is absolutely smoked over the fence
Good tight over from Mohammad Hasnain conceding just a couple of singles. He has had a good outing tonight, conceding 18 runs from 4 overs and picking up a couple of wickets.

Ben Cutting is introduced into the attack.
Over: 13 | Summary: 0 1 0 0 1 0 Bowler: Mohammad Hasnain Score: 106/3
12.6 Mohammad Hasnain to Colin Ingram, no run, slower length ball on the middle stump, dabbed straight to the fielder at backward point.
12.5 Mohammad Hasnain to Mohammad Nabi, in the blockhole on the off stump, jammed out by Nabi towards cover for a single.
12.4 Mohammad Hasnain to Mohammad Nabi, no run, pacy length ball outside off, Nabi looks to guide that down to third man but cannot get bat on ball.
12.3 Mohammad Hasnain to Mohammad Nabi, no run, back of a length ball on the off stump, Nabi sways away and lets that through to the keeper.
12.2 Mohammad Hasnain to Colin Ingram, length ball on the body, Ingram swivels on the pull along the ground to deep backward square leg for a single.
12.1 Mohammad Hasnain to Colin Ingram, no run, very full ball outside off, almost a yorker. Squeezed out towards point.
Colin Ingram shows his true class, scoring that lovely boundary against the wrist-spinner, not allowing him to dictate terms. The target is down to 18 runs now, and it will be more like moving through the motions now.

Mohammad Hasnain into his last over of then night.
