KXIP vs RCB Match Result

- IPL 2017 Match 8
Royal Challengers Bangalore 148/4 (20.0 ov)
Kings XI Punjab 150/2 (14.3 ov)
Kings XI Punjab won by 8 wickets
Current Run Rate 10.34
That concludes our coverage of a facile win for Kings XI Punjab against Royal Challengers Bangalore, who were tame and insipid. Kohli just cannot come back soon enough for them. Tomorrow, the Rising Pune Supergiant host Delhi Daredevils. Do join for our coverage of that. Until then, it is goodbye from us at Sportskeeda.
Axar Patel is the Man of the Match. For the second match running, a young Indian Man of the Match is not interviewed at the presentation.
Glenn Maxwell: "Really good. We'd like a few more games here now, I reckon. But it's an outstanding start for us."

"To keep that batting lineup down to 23 runs in the powerplay is brilliant. On such a small ground, to restrict two teams to less than 170 is fantastic."

"He (Amla) is world class, isn't he?"

"Axar has been quality ever since the 2014 IPL. Him, Mohit and Sandeep will be crucial for us."
Shane Watson: "Me getting out in the first over didn't help. AB was incredible, but losing so many early wickets curbed his aggression initially."

"We should have got a few more runs than we eventually did, but we lost too many wickets early in the piece to challenge."
Kings XI Punjab win 8 wickets, with 33 balls to spare.

What a clinical chase from Kings XI there. Manan Vohra and Amla came out with terrific intent and smashed their way to 62 runs in the powerplay. Amla carried on to see Kings XI through to the end. Maxwell came in and provided some fireworks as they finished the game with plenty to spare.

It is scary to think how much worse the loss would have been for RCB without that innings from AB de Villiers. His 83 off 46 balls ensured RCB had something to bowl at. In the end, it turned out to be next to nothing to bowl at, but it was a sublime knock from an absolute master of his craft.

Two wins in two for the Kings XI, and two losses in three games for RCB. Another clinical run chase by the Kings XI at Indore. RCB were utterly blown away from the first ball of the game.
14.3 Chahal to Maxwell, SIX, this time he connects, wide full ball, Maxwell reaches with the swipe and thumps the ball over long off

14.2 Chahal to Maxwell, no run, slow ball outside off, Maxwell wanted to tonk it, misses
14.1 Chahal to Amla, 1 run, full ball is flicked to deep mid-wicket
143/2 after 14 overs. Kings XI need 6 runs in 6 overs to condemn RCB to a second loss in their opening three games.
13.6 Stanlake to Maxwell, SIX, BOOM, short and wide, Maxwell is ready with the front leg out of the way and carves the ball clean over point. This is not his power on display, a proper display of craft and timing from Maxwell!
13.5 Stanlake to Amla, 1 run, full ball on off, Amla walks across to tap it to short mid-wicket
13.4 Stanlake to Maxwell, 1 run, short and angled in, Maxwell shuffles and helps it away to fine leg. That traveled to Mills, such good timing. These are ominous signs for the other IPL teams, with the form that Maxwell is in.
13.3 Stanlake to Amla, 1 run, length ball on off, Amla guides it to third man
13.2 Stanlake to Maxwell, 1 run, shortish ball on off, Maxwell blasts it to long off
13.1 Stanlake to Maxwell, SIX, short and wide, Maxwell backs away and thumps it over third man. He is having fun now, at the expense of RCB, for whom it has been a wretched day on the field.
127/2 after 13 overs. Maxwell looks like he wants to hit every ball beyond the boundary here. Stanlake comes back in.
12.6 Negi to Maxwell, 1 LEG BYE, short ball, Maxwell looks to pull it across, hit on the pads
12.5 Negi to Maxwell, no run, short ball, cut to point. He hit that hard, and it traveled to Chahal, who stopped it well.
12.4 Negi to Amla, 1 run, length ball, Amla walks across, clips it to fine leg
12.3 Negi to Maxwell, 1 run, fullish ball, Maxwell smacks it to long on
12.2 Negi to Maxwell, FOUR, full ball on the stumps, Maxwell lifts it to mid-wicket boundary. This is too easy for Maxi.
12.1 Negi to Amla, 1 run, full ball is flicked away to deep square leg
119/2 after 12 overs. Another expensive over from Watson. 12 off that one. RCB are just going through the motions, and the Kings XI are having fun as they stroll towards a second consecutive win to start their campaign. Pawan Negi comes into the attack.
11.6 Watson to Maxwell, FOUR, length ball on off, Maxwell stands tall and smacks it over covers. This is timid bowling from Watson, who is really struggling,
11.5 Watson to Amla, 1 run, length ball on off, Amla works it away to deep mid-wicket
11.4 Watson to Amla, FOUR, short and angled in, Amla swivels across and plays it to fine leg. 50 up for the mighty Hash! This is a terrific knock.
11.3 Watson to Maxwell, 1 LEG BYE, length ball, hits the thigh pad and they scamper across
11.2 Watson to Amla, 1 run, length ball on the pads, clipped away to deep square leg
11.1 Watson to Maxwell, 1 run, full ball on off, Maxwell guides it clean to Mandeep at point who shells it. The IPL of dropped catches just keeps on giving.
107/2 after 11 overs. 10 runs from that over. Amla is playing a brilliant knock and taking his team home at a canter. Watson is back.
