Follow IPL T20 live score for Kolkata Knight Riders vs Gujarat Lions

That brings us to an end of today's live coverage. The IPL is getting more exciting as the days progress. We will be back again bringing the live coverage of the games tomorrow. Until the, good night from all of us here at Sportskeeda!
Raina: "It was an important game for us and we bowled pretty well. We came back pretty strongly. Then, me, Baz and Jaddu had a good partnership. It was important to play proper cricketing shots, there was no need to play cross-batted shots. Basil is a very good prospect for Gujarat. Faulkner was also great, got Gautam Gambhir out, overall, it was a great team effort. It was important for me to be out there and keep calm when wickets fell. I think batting looks good, we can still improve our bowling. we have been giving away lots of runs in the first six overs. If we are looking to finish on top, we need to minimise mistakes"
Suresh Raina has been adjudged the Man of the Match.
Suresh Raina receives the award for maximum number of sixes while Brendon McCullum receives the Stylish Player of the Day award.
Manish Pandey receives the Catch of the Match award.
Time for the presentation ceremony.
Gambhir: "I thought we batted really well, bu they are a dangerous side. I thought the total was enough, especially with the attack we have, but the way Finchy and McCullum batted, they removed the entire pressure from the middle order. The wicket was still a bit sticky in the first innings, but Lions are a batting-heavy side. We still have a lot of positives to take from the match. We need to give credit to the opposition at times. It;s always that someone like Raina keeps getting runs, not against us, obviously. At the start of the tournament, we would have taken four out of six."
A cracking contest comes to an end and in the end, Gujarat Lions cruised to a comfortable victory, courtesy of their captain’s incredible knock. Gautam Gambhir will feel that his team fell short by 10-15 runs but their bowlers couldn’t do much either.

Aaron Finch’s blitzkrieg at the top of the order provided the start but after he was dismissed Brendon McCullum took on the onus of keeping the scoring rate up. Suresh Raina’s masterful innings kept them in the game but KKR were getting crucial breakthroughs throughout the innings.

Luck too was on his side. Twice, it was the inside edge that saved Raina from being bowled and he capitalised on it. He decided to take
matters into his own hands in the 17th over and smashed Nathan Coulter-Nile for two boundaries and a six to take the game away from KKR’s grasp.

Eventually, he was dismissed for 84 runs off just 46 balls. Ravindra Jadeja gave him good company and after his departure ensured there were no further hiccups.

The Knights had done well to post a big total on the board but they did fall some 10-15 runs short. It was the disciplined bowling by the
Lions’ bowlers in the death overs that caused the difference between the two teams.

Maybe, Gambhir will rue not bringing on Umesh Yadav earlier. Despite the loss, they stay in the second spot in the IPL table.
Gujarat Lions have won the match by 4 wickets with 10 balls to spare!
18.2 Coulter-Nile to Jadeja, FOUR! Gujarat Lions win by 4 wickets. Short and wide of off stump, Jadeja cuts the ball past the man at point and beats the man in the deep.
18.1 Coulter-Nile to Faulkner, 1 run, full one on off stump, squeezed towards the third man.
183/6 after 18 overs. Gujarat Lions in the driving seat. They need just five runs from the last two overs to win the match.

Coulter-Nile to continue.
17.6 Kuldeep to Faulkner, 3 runs, full length on leg stump, Faulkner flicks that off his pads towards the vacant fine leg area, and by the time Umesh reached the ball from midwicket, perhaps, they had collected three.
180/6 after 17.5 overs. There's the wicket but is it a little too late? Just 8 needed off 13 balls.

James Faulkner comes to the crease.
17.5 Kuldeep to Raina, OUT! Is there a twist here? Raina departs! A leg-break, Raina looks to cut that towards the off-side, but only manages to edge it to the man at short point.
17.4 Kuldeep to Raina, SIX! Full length on middle, Raina opens his stance and slog sweeps that high and long over midwicket.
17.3 Kuldeep to Jadeja, 1 run, full ball on leg stump, flicked to mid-on for a single.
17.2 Kuldeep to Raina, 1 run, conventional leg-break, cut to short third man.
17.1 Kuldeep to Jadeja, 1 run, full ball on off, hammered to long-on. 50 partnership off just 27 balls!
171/6 after 17 overs. And that's the big, game-deciding over of the match! Raina has taken matters into his own hands and has sent Coulter-Nile packing. 17 needed off 18 balls. Should be a stroll in the park.

Kuldeep Yadav to bowl his final over.
16.6 Coulter-Nile to Jadeja, 1 run, low full toss on middle, pushed to mid-off.
16.5 Coulter-Nile to Raina, 1 run, full length ball outside off, guided towards deep third man.
16.4 Coulter-Nile to Raina, SIX! full length on middle, Raina shuffles across the stumps and picks that up and deposits that over midwicket.
16.3 Coulter-Nile to Raina, FOUR! Raina makes room and opens the face of the bat to guide the full ball outside off, towards the third man fence.
16.2 Coulter-Nile to Raina, no run, good length ball just a tad fuller than the previous one, Raina makes room and swings, but misses the ball.
16.1 Coulter-Nile to Raina, FOUR! Length ball outside off, Raina slaps that back past the bowler towards long-off.
155/5 after 16 overs. Time for the strategic time-out.

33 needed off 24 balls and it is anybody's game. If Raina manages to stay until the end, the  Lions will surely win but a wicket or two could turn the game on its head. This has been a cracking contest so far and it looks like it will go down to the wire.

Coulter-Nile into the attack.
15.6 Narine to Jadeja, 2 runs, full length on middle, pushed into the gap between wide long on and deep midwicket.
15.5 Narine to Jadeja, SIX! And... the slog sweep comes out. Full ball on middle and off, Jadeja slog sweeps that to deep midwicket, where Suryakumar takes the catch but steps on the ropes. He signals to the umpire that it's a six.
15.4 Narine to Jadeja, no run, length on off stump, pushed back to the bowler.
