Player of the match:
Right then, that's it from the Eden Gardens for now. We hope you enjoyed our live coverage. The action now shifts down south to Bengaluru where RCB play their first home game as they host MI. Do join us for that game tomorrow. But unitl then it's a goodbye from us!
Andre Russell (Man of the Match)
: I keep getting these cars and awards and I think I have to make a bigger garage. I think we played good cricket and hopefully, the momentum sticks with us. Gayle is like a brother to me, a bigger legend and to get him out early in the innings was good as we know what he can do. The plan was to restrict him and I am happy I could get the job done. Well done to the boys again.
: A good start to the tournament for us. The way Nitish [Rana] batted was beautiful. Got to give credit to Robbie as well for playing through. The start was very good as well. Obviously, then Russell's finish was great.
: [Talking about the no-ball] We weren't focused on the small things but they cost you in this game. The way Varun Chakravarthy bowled in the 15th over to Uthappa and Rana was a big positive. Mayank [Agarwal] batted well despite wickets going down. I thought about 200 was par on this track and that is where the smaller mistakes cost us.
So, that's two wins on the bounce for KKR. They move to the top of the table, eclipsing CSK by net run rate.
Russell who starred with the bat was wonderful with the ball as well. He picked up the big wicket of Chris Gayle and then scalped Sarfaraz. Kuldeep bowled well but went wicketless but the KKR bowlers did well to keep KXIP down to 190.
So, that's it. A stroll for KKR towards the end as they win the game by 28 runs. KXIP were always going to play catch up while chasing close to 11 runs per over. Rahul was dismissed early while Gayle did threaten but once he was out, it was always going to be an uphill task. Agarwal and Miller did score fifties but it didn't come at the rate that the chase required.
KXI: 190/4(RR 9.50)

A couple of boundaries here for Mandeep.

18.5 SIX! Lockie Ferguson to David Miller. Length ball, off stump backing away driving, well timed in the air under control over deep backward point for 6 runs.
Both teams just seem to be going through the motions here. The result seems a forgone conclusion.

17.6 FOUR! Prasidh Krishna to Mandeep Singh. Short, outside off stump swayed away cutting, well timed in the air under control past fine leg for 4 runs. Using the pace and bounce to find the boundary. Clever from Mandeep although it could end up being in vain.
17.5 Prasidh Krishna to David Miller. Short, down leg side on the back foot pulling, top edge in the air uncontrolled to mid wicket for 1 run, fielded by Yadav.
Miller has got the boundaries but hasn't been really consistent. KXIP needed some flurry of big hits.
