That concludes our coverage of a facile win for the Kolkata Knight Riders. We have a double header tomorrow, with a Virat Kohli-empowered RCB taking on Mumbai Indians at 4pm before Gujarat Lions host Rising Pune Supergiant. Join us then. Until then, it is goodbye from us at Sportskeeda.
Sunil Narine is the Man of the Match

"It came off today. Happy that the support staff and the captain backed me."

"This is a completely different surface here, but it is about keeping it as simple as possible, and sticking to the basics.
Gautam Gambhir: "It doesn't really matter if I have the Orange Cap or not. It's about how many points we have on the board,"

"It is a beautiful wicket to bat on. There is good pace and carry, and we've got good fast bowlers. Umesh coming back is terrific for us."

"A quality bowler is a quality bowler anywhere. Narine is the leader of our attack, wherever we play."

"We discussed it, and thought there was no point of Sunil batting at no. 9"

"It's always good when I am scoring runs. And the team is winning. Personal performance doesn't matter as long as the team keeps winning"
Glenn Maxwell: "I thought we had a chance with 170 with the way the wicket played. The wicket was still swinging and seaming, so we thought we had a chance"

"Not surprised by Narine opening. He did it a few times in the Big Bash. He played and missed a few, but that happens. We have to go back to the drawing board."

"We lost our way when we lost three wickets in that one over. Now, we have to regroup and be up for Delhi"
Kolkata Knight Riders win by 8 wickets. KKR haven't lost a match chasing at Eden Gardens since 2013, and they have kept that streak going. They also keep another streak of wins going, as they garner their 8th consecutive win over the Kings XI.

This, in the end, was very easy. They made a mockery of Kings XI's score of 170, as they finished the game with 21 balls to spare. Sunil Narine made 37 off 18 balls after his promotion to open the innings. Gautam Gambhir finished the game off, as he stayed till the end to ensure no hiccups.

Sunil Narine and Umesh Yadav set the game up with the ball, and Gambhir finished it off with the bat. Kings XI will feel they should have got a few more runs, but they kept losing wickets at the most inopportune of moments. They slump to their first loss of the tournament.

KKR have bounced back well after that dreadful collapse in Mumbai in their last game. KKR, Kings XI, SRH and Mumbai Indians now have two wins in three games. KKR are atop the points table, with a better net run rate.
16.3 Stoinis to Pandey, SIX, game...set...match, full ball on off, Manish slogs it away to long on

16.2 Stoinis to Pandey, no run, full slower ball on off, Pandey taps it to point
16.1 Stoinis to Gambhir, 1 run, slower length ball on off, Gambhir drives it to sweeper cover
164/2 after 16 overs. That wasn't the last over of the game, but we're very close to the finish. 7 runs required in 4 overs. Stoinis to bowl.
15.6 Sandeep to Gambhir, 1 run, low full toss on the stumps, bunted down to long on
15.5 Sandeep to Gambhir, FOUR, short and wide, Gambhir cuts it away past a diving Miller a point. That cut shot has got him so many runs today.

15.4 Sandeep to Gambhir, no run, full ball outside off, Has Gambhir opened his face of the bat and guided it to Miller at backward point? Nope, the ball was full and he chopped it on to the pitch before it carries to point
15.3 Sandeep to Gambhir, no run, a yorker on the stumps, dug away to short cover
15.2 Sandeep to Pandey, 1 run, length ball on off, cut away to third man
15.1 Sandeep to Gambhir, 1 run, length ball chopped down to third man
157/2 after 15 overs. Strategic timeout. Why? Couldn't KKR finish this in the next over, and have a timeout for the rest of the night? Sandeep will bowl. Will this be the last over of the night?
14.6 Mohit to Gambhir, 1 run, on the pads, flicked uppishly to deep mid-wicket
14.5 Mohit to Pandey, 1 run, length ball angled in, clipped away to short mid-wicket
14.4 Mohit to Pandey, FOUR, very short and slow, Pandey pulls it away to deep square leg. That sat up and asked Pandey to smack it.
14.3 Mohit to Gambhir, 1 run, slower full ball, Gambhir waits for it and guides it to third man
14.2 Mohit to Pandey, 1 run, length ball on off, guided to third man
14.1 Mohit to Gambhir, 1 run, slow ball but very short, Gambhir shapes up and pulls it to deep square leg
148/2 after 14 overs. KKR now need 23 off 36 balls. Can they finish this in the next two overs? Mohit will continue.
13.6 Axar to Pandey, FOUR, full ball on off, Manish comes forward and drives beautifully through covers

13.5 Axar to Gambhir, 1 run, full ball on the pads, clipped to deep mid-wicket
13.4 Axar to Gambhir, FOUR, expert, length ball outside leg stump, Gambhir makes room and ramps it besides the keeper. That was outside leg stump, how on earth did Gambhir play that to the third man boundary?
13.3 Axar to Pandey, 1 run, length ball, Manish goes back and plays it away
13.2 Axar to Gambhir, 1 run, length ball on the stumps, slogged away to deep mid-wicket
13.1 Axar to Pandey, 1 run, full ball on off, Pandey looks to drive, inside edge goes to square leg
136/2 after 13 overs. 8 runs off that over. No signs of a KKR hiccup here. These two batsmen don't seem like they are being threatened at all. Axar will bowl his last over.
