That's all from us at the match center. Thank you for joining us tonight. Remember, we have a double-header tomorrow. The first match will commence at 03:30 p.m. IST with the Mumbai Indians going up against the Delhi Capitals. Do join us for that! Until then, this is Bala and Shashwat Kumar signing off. Good night!
With this victory, the Punjab Kings have moved up to the fifth position in the table. There is a logjam in the middle of the table with KKR, PBKS and MI, all sitting on 10 points each. MI have the advantage of a game in hand though.
Punjab Kings win by 5 wickets with three balls remaining!

The target of 166 runs was a par one on this track. It wasn't the easiest track to bat on once the ball got a bit older. It was sticking in the surface just a touch and the slower balls were not easy to get away. The Punjab Kings paced their innings well in the end.

KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal once again gave the perfect start at the top, putting together another half-century partnership. But the Knight Riders kept on chipping away. One wicket almost gave way to another with Agarwal and Pooran falling in quick succession, followed by Markram and Hooda later in the innings.

KL Rahul anchored the innings pretty well, falling just before the finish line with 67 runs against his name. The cameo from Shahrukh Khan was vital at the end, taking all the pressure off Rahul's shoulders. He hit the winning runs in the end and remained unbeaten on 22 from just 9 deliveries.

There were plenty of dropped catches in the field from Kolkata Knight Riders. It once again showed how important it is to hold on to your catches. They bowled well, but the wickets are the key when you are defending such a par total.

The spin duo of Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine was once again the key for the Knight Riders. They gave away just 58 runs between them in 8 overs and picked up three crucial wickets. Tim Southee went around the park, conceding 40 runs from his 4 overs. The fifth bowler's quota shared by Venkatesh Iyer and Nitish Rana too turned out to be costly.

Both sides were experimenting with the balance of their side with two key men missing in Chris Gayle and Andre Russell. The batting was slightly slim for the Kings, so was the bowling for the Knight Riders. Ultimately, it proved more costly for the Knight Riders as they finished on the wrong side of the result.
KL Rahul is the Player of the Match! He also gets the Orange Cap!

KL Rahul:
Used to this (tight matches), but will take the 2 points (happily). We did it brilliantly, smartly. It was a decent wicket, decided early that we can't experiment. We were slightly defensive with the ball. There was not much spin, not much swing as well after the first three overs. Tried to make the batsmen hit to the bigger side. They had a clear plan and executed it well. We have given clear roles to players and they did it beautifully, got us over the line. (Disappointment in being getting out at the end) Obviously, would want to finish games. The weather hasn't been too kind here, coming from England and Australia. Hopefully, we can build on this. (On leaving out Harpreet Brar) These are things kill me as a captain. You don't leave outa young Indian, who has been doing well. Chris has left the bubble, so we needed to see what would be the best XI. We are going to Sharjah next, he will be handy. (Shahrukh Khan) He has been batting brilliantly in the nets. He is strong and can hit the big ball. He has been asking a lot of questions. He has developed a game and score at 170-180 without taking a lot of chances. He can finish games, done that for Tamil Nadu, can do it for us and for India too in the future. (Playoff chances) Talks have been not to worry about results, not to put too much pressure on ourselves. We were a bottom team in the last two years. Everyone knows that we are a far better team than. Putting unnecessary pressure on ourselves is not helping. It's just about going out and giving it our best. Last four games in the UAE is a perfect example. We were entertaining, defended low totals against MI and SRH. If we learn from these mistakes, we will be at the top.

Shahrukh Khan: It was important that a set batsman was there when I came out. Important for me to go from the beginning. KL did his role really well. Thought I hit it well, that the ball will go far into stands. It was brave to hit that, maybe that's why it went over the boundary. As soon as I go in in a situation like this, I try to find gaps straightaway. That's helping. We needed three wins on the trot. We have started off today. We need to stick to our process.
Eoin Morgan: We did not field well. Put down some catches Myself in the beginning and then some in the middle as well. That cost us the game. Few wickets there would have helped us. It was a par score on this track, not a winning score. The bowlers did well. Punjab fought well and then we came back well, but the catches cost us. (On KL Rahu's catch) Real time,  I felt it was out. When you slow things down, analyze, it might look different. The third umpire made the decision, and that's final. Would have been nice if we have got that wicket. (On the batting in the death overs) Everybody found it difficult. It wasn't easy to start on. Rana played well, cashed in on balls in his area. We batted well for 13 and half or 14 overs, but did not capitalize. (On Venkatesh Iyer) He is a real find. He has been around with us for the whole season. He was impressive in the warm up games and in the nets. His attitude, it's absolutely fantastic. Takes responsibility with the ball as well. Russ is a huge gap as an all-rounder. It's outstanding that Iyer can fill up the gap to an extent. (On the remaining games) Lot of positives coming from this game. The conditions are tough in second innings. We fought in the manner that the scoreboard dictated. Two more games, hopefully we will be there in the playoffs.
My word, what a game of cricket this has been! Punjab Kings finally scrape their way through to a five wicket victory!
Rahul Tripathi in the deep! He has a wry smile on his face. He can't believe what has happened!
19.3 Venkatesh Iyer to Shahrukh Khan, SIX! OH DEAR! OH MY WORD! Slower delivery on a back of a length outside off stump. Khan goes deep into his crease and clubs it towards deep mid wicket, where Tripathi runs to his left and then bundles the high ball over the ropes! You could not write this script! Shahrukh Khan defeats Shahrukh Khan!
19.2 Venkatesh Iyer to KL Rahul, OUT! RAHUL DEPARTS! OH DEAR! Slower delivery on a back of a length on middle and leg stump. Rahul backs away and looks to launch it over long off but he only manages to chip it straight to the man at long off. The fielder does the rest and Rahul is absolutely livid with himself! Don't go anywhere folks! Punjab in a bit of bother again!

KL Rahul c Shivam Mavi b Venkatesh Iyer 67 [55b, 4x4s, 2x6s]
4 runs required off 5 deliveries!
19.1 Venkatesh Iyer to Shahrukh Khan, slower delivery on a length outside off stump. Khan swings himself off his feet and chalks it off the toe end past the keeper for a single
Well well well! Just what the Punjab Kings required and the Knight Riders did not require. A wide full toss off the final delivery, concedes a boundary and completely swings the momentum towards the Kings.

Just 5 runs required off the final over. The onus will be on Venkatesh Iyer to try and defend that for his side. That is a massive task  at the youngster's hands.

18.6 Shivam Mavi to KL Rahul, FOUR! Waist height full toss outside off stump. Rahul throws his hands at it and scythes that one over backward point for a much needed boundary!
18.5 Shivam Mavi to Shahrukh Khan, very full delivery on off stump. Khan jams his bat down in time and digs the ball out towards the fielder at long on for another easy single
18.4 Shivam Mavi to KL Rahul, full toss outside off stump. Rahul comes forward and knocks the ball down the ground towards the sweeper at long on for just another single
DRAMA OUT IN THE MIDDLE! That could be the difference between a victory and a defeat! What a moment in the game!
18.3 Shivam Mavi to KL Rahul, OUT! WHAT A CATCH! RAHUL GOES! OH MY! HANG ON, THE THIRD UMPIRE DECIDES IT IS NOT A FAIR CATCH! Length delivery on middle and leg stump. Rahul clears his front leg and hammers that one towards deep mid wicket, where the fielder runs in from the fence and completes a sensational catch diving forward! Tripathi is convinced he has taken it but the umpires are going upstairs to have a look! And, the third umpire has enough evidence to overturn it. Rahul survives!
