An easy victory in the end for the home side. They will now take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2nd playoff at the same venue 2 days from now. RR began extremely well as Rahane and Tripathi got them off to a great start. Rahane and Samson continued after Tripathi's dismissal but they slowed down towards the latter end of the innings, leaving too much to do for the batsmen at the end of the innings. The KKR bowlers bowled extremely well after a poor start, with Kuldeep Yadav, Piyush Chawla, and Prasidh Krishna performing particularly well.
Over 20 RR: 144/4(RR 7.20) Bowler: P Krishna Sum..: . 2 . 1 1 4
19.6 Krishna to Gowtham, FOUR, short ball, pulled, top edge, gets to fine leg, does not matter, RR qualify
19.5 Krishna to Klaasen, 1 run, low inswing yorker, jammed out to long on
19.4 Krishna to Gowtham, 1 run, slow full toss outside off, Gowtham waits, gets the edge to point
19.3 Krishna to Gowtham, no run, full ball sliding in, Gowtham wants a wide, the umpire not saying so
19.2 Krishna to Gowtham, 2 runs, full ball on off, Gowtham slices it away to deep extra cover
19.1 Krishna to Gowtham, no run, full ball on off, Gowtham swings, Gowtham misses
Over 19 RR: 136/4(RR 7.16) Bowler: A Russell Sum..: 1 1 1 1 2 .
18.6 Russell to Klaasen, no run, that was short and nasty, Klaasen looks to hook away, does not connect
18.5 Russell to Klaasen, 2 runs, low full toss on the stumps, that was punched away to mid-wicket
18.4 Russell to Gowtham, 1 run, goes back to a length ball, tries to slam it away, gets the inside edge
18.3 Russell to Klaasen, 1 run, length ball on off, Klaasen drives again, he can only mistime it away to long off
18.2 Russell to Gowtham, 1 run, full ball on off, Gowtham slides it away to third man
18.1 Russell to Klaasen, 1 run, length ball on off, Klaasen goes for the swipe, drags the ball to square leg. Klaasen is struggling to connect today.
Three runs and a wicket off the 18th over. Brilliant over from Prasidh Krishna. This over could be the turning point of this game. Andre Russell to bowl the all-important 19th over here.
Over 18 RR: 130/4(RR 7.22) Bowler: P Krishna Sum..: . 2 1 . . W
17.6 Krishna to Binny, OUT, he tried to paddle the full ball away, can only get it towards short square leg, ahh, what an over it has been!
17.5 Krishna to Binny, no run, changes the length, it was back of a length ball, Binny has a swipe, misses
17.4 Krishna to Binny, no run, top bowling, it was wide and it was a yorker, misses Binny's attempt at a dab. Prasidh is keeping things tight here.
17.3 Krishna to Klaasen, 1 run, full ball in the hole, jammed away to short cover
17.2 Krishna to Klaasen, 2 runs, full ball angled in, Klaasen bunts it away to mid-wicket and they get a brace
17.1 Krishna to Klaasen, no run, full ball, it was slow, it was way outside the tram lines. Rajasthan Royals were robbed off a run here.
KKR need 43 runs to win off the last three overs. While you think it is a difficult target for the batting team, Royals should take inspiration from Chennai Super Kings as they needed the same score to win off the last three overs and the Men in Yellow finished off the match with five balls to spare.
Over 17 RR: 127/3(RR 7.47) Bowler: P Chawla Sum..: 1 4 1 1 W 1
16.5 Chawla to Klaasen, 1 run, fullish ball spinning in, Klaasen punches it away to long on
16.5 Chawla to Samson, OUT, huge moment in this match as KKR strike at the right time. It was a length ball and deserved to be hit. Samson wanted to deposit it over mid-wicket, swings, gets the height, but not the distance, Searles at long on takes the catch.
16.4 Chawla to Klaasen, 1 run, backs away to a length ball, scythed it away to deep point
16.3 Chawla to Samson, 1 run, that was a googly angled in, Samson flicks it uppishly to square leg. With this, Samson has reached his fifty off 37 balls.
16.2 Chawla to Samson, FOUR, low full toss, Samson opens the face of the bat and skews it away to cover. A spinner bowling a full-toss in T20s is unforgivable and Samson rightly put it away to the boundary. .
