Post-Match Comments:

Mohammad Hafeez:
This is something I have been working over the last few years. Making sure not hitting the ball too hard and just relying on the timing. He's (Chris Gayle) something very special. I am happy that things are working for me as well.

Sarfaraz Ahmed, Captain of Quetta Gladiators: If we drop easy catches, we will never win games of cricket. We also didn't execute our bowling plans of bowling wicket to wicket. Good teams take good catches and save extra 10-15 runs in a game of T20. We are still trying to figure out our combination. I have been batting well but wasn't getting enough game time. Today, I got a chance and did well.

Fakhar Zaman, Player of the Match: I needed an innings like these. I am feeling really happy. I had been trying to continue what I had been doing. I was trying to not hit it too hard. Hafeez was there and I had no pressure on him. He told me to give him strike. And I did the same. I will try to get starts in every game.

Sohail Akhtar, Skipper of Lahore Qalandars: If we had wickets in hand, I always believed we will win. Wins like these act as a confidence booster especially when the seniors are performing well. The bowling was pretty good though there were a few lapses on the field. Rashid was brilliant with the ball.
This has been an outstanding display of batting from the Lahore Qalandars, as they ride on an unbeaten 115-run partnership between Fakhar Zaman and "The Professor" Mohammad Hafeez, to trounce the Quetta Gladiators by 9 wickets and chase down the target of 179 runs with 10 balls to spare. The Lahore Qalandars got a superb start from their openers Fakhar Zaman and the skipper Sohail Akhtar, who raised 64 runs for the opening wicket in 8.4 overs, but after Zahid Mahmood got rid of Akhtar with a stunning googly, but after that, there was precious little else from the Quetta Gladiators bowlers, with the Zaman-Hafeez combination ripping through the bowling attack and the dropped catches from the Gladiators fielders too didn't help matters either.

Fakhar Zaman remained unbeaten on a stunning 82* from 52 balls, studded with 8 fours and 2 sixes, while "The Professor" Mohammad Hafeez played like a man possessed, staying unbeaten on 73* from JUST 33 balls, with 5 fours and 6 sixes decorating his knock. The Lahore Qalandars' captain Sohail Akhtar got a start & played slowly to complement the attacking Zaman at the top and scored 21 from 26 deliveries.

For the Quetta Gladiators, the only bowler to get success was Zahid Mahmood, who ended with 1/28 from 3 overs, while none of the other bowlers did much. Mohammad Nawaz bowled very tightly at the top, but was puzzlingly given just 2 overs, from which he conceded 8 runs, while all the other Quetta Gladiators bowlers got thrashed around the National Stadium, with Mohammad Hasnain conceding 31 runs from 3.2 overs, Usman Shinwari being hammered for 47 runs in his 4 overs, Anwar Ali conceding 33 runs from 3 overs and Ben Cutting started well in his first two overs, but a 20-run over in his third saw him end up with figures with 0/31 in 3 overs.
18.2 Mohammad Hasnain to Mohammad Hafeez, FOUR! THAT'LL DO IT FOR THE QALANDARS! Full delivery outside off stump, Hafeez leans into it and smokes this one through cover and it races away to the fence! What a performance this has been from the Qalandars! They win by 9 wickets
18.1 Mohammad Hasnain to Mohammad Hafeez, full ball on off stump, Hafeez smashes it straight to mid-off, the Qalandars are just one hit away from a win here and looks like Hafeez wants to be the man to finish it off
Fabulous over for the Lahore Qalandars, as 18 runs come from it and after 18 overs, they are 175/1 and need just 4 runs from 12 balls. This has been an outstanding display of batsmanship from this pair, with Hafeez showing some sublime hitting. Mohammad Hasnain will bowl the penultimate over of the match.
Over: 18 | Summary: 1 4 2 4 6 1 Bowler: Usman Shinwari Score: 175/1
17.6 Usman Shinwari to Mohammad Hafeez, length ball outside off stump, Hafeez reaches out to it and pulls it to deep-square leg. Just one
17.5 Usman Shinwari to Mohammad Hafeez, BANG! SIX! Hafeez is in a hurry to finish things off! Another nothing ball that's on a length, Hafeez hangs back and deposits it over the deep-square leg fence for another MAXIMUM!
17.4 Usman Shinwari to Mohammad Hafeez, SHOT! FOUR! It was in the slot again and Hafeez pulverized it back over the bowler! Poor effort from the fielder at long-on, could have saved that had he put in the dive!
17.3 Usman Shinwari to Mohammad Hafeez, slower short ball that doesn't rise, Hafeez waits for it and pulls it to deep square leg, the fielder nearly makes a meal of it but does well to recover and not concede a boundary. He nearly overran it, but thankfully didn't concede a boundary there.
17.2 Usman Shinwari to Mohammad Hafeez, IN THE GAP! FOUR! It was another length ball on off stump and Hafeez pulled it away and placed in the gap between deep mid-wicket and long-on with pinpoint precision!
17.1 Usman Shinwari to Fakhar Zaman, length ball outside off stump, Zaman mistimes a pull shot to deep square leg for a single
A decent over from Hasnain, with only 6 runs coming from it, with the Lahore Qalandars 157/1 after 17 overs, needing another 22 runs from 18 balls. Usman Shinwari comes in for his final over.
Over: 17 | Summary: 1 0 1 1 2 1 Bowler: Mohammad Hasnain Score: 157/1
16.6 Mohammad Hasnain to Fakhar Zaman, full ball on off stump, Fakhar knocks it to deep cover and retains strike for the next over
16.5 Mohammad Hasnain to Fakhar Zaman, STRAIGHT UP IN THE AIR! DROPPED! It was a full ball on leg stump and Fakhar looked to flick this away on the leg-side, it took the leading edge and flew straight up in the air. Banton failed to get hold of it after running back at mid-on. Another one goes down!
16.4 Mohammad Hasnain to Mohammad Hafeez, full ball on off stump, Hafeez mistimes it to long-on and gets off the strike
Sarfaraz Ahmed, the Quetta Gladiators captain is looking extremely animated and has been shouting at his players all through...this really doesn't make for pretty reading for anyone watching the game to see a captain look so dispirited on the field.
16.3 Mohammad Hasnain to Fakhar Zaman, another excellent yorker outside off stump, Fakhar manages to dig this out to third man and collects a single
