Melbourne Renegades won this match by 11 runs!!

That's it for this game everyone!! We hope that you enjoyed this live coverage between Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Renegades. Stay tuned on Sportskeeda for all the live cricketing updates from around the world. This is Navjeevan and alongside me, Bala signing off till then take care and stay safe!!
Will Sutherland who bowled the final over was able to add two more wickets to his tally and registered a FIVE-FOR!! Thus becoming the 2nd Renegades player after Dwayne Bravo to do so.

The Renegades might not have had the greatest of seasons in BBL 10 but they certainly had a great last game and have made a great set-up for BBL Finals!!
The Renegades then pegged back into this match as Will Sutherland who bowl the 18th over kept things tight courtesy of some great display of fielding in the deep which did not allow Hurricanes batters to get the boundaries. Will on the final ball of that over got the wicket of Tim David which made it tougher for Hurricanes.

Imad Wasim who bowled the penultimate over continued to keep things tight as well and made it quite an impossible equation to reach to as Hurricanes needed 22 runs from the last over.
The boundaries after the halfway stage had dried up for the Hurricanes and the pressure was starting to build on them. Things started to go south as Dawid Malan who tried to go for the pressure release shot lost his wicket batting on 34 runs.

To make it worse, Jacks was sent packing soon as well. Handscomb and the X-Factor substitute for Hurricanes Tim David had a task in hand as they needed to score 49 runs off the last 4 overs. The duo was able to find the boundaries but they needed more those to close this chase.
At the halfway stage, the duo had stitched 41 runs partnership. Post drinks, the Hurricanes decided to take the power surge but the momentum was taken away from them right on the 2nd ball of the power surge as Zak clean bowled Short on 29 runs with a brilliant yorker.

Not much happened later in the power surge as the required run rate crept up to 9 RPO for the Hurricanes. Malan who hung around had to slow down once again and on a runner ball. Will Jacks who came out to the middle as well took his time to get himself in.
Things got interesting as Peter Hatzoglou when introduced into the attack was able to pluck a wicket straight away which pushed Hurricanes on the back foot for a bit. Dawid Malan who has been the no.1 T20 batsman then joined the crease along with Short.

The duo then looked to set in and made sure that they did not lose another wicket at that stage of the game. Later on, towards the halfway stage, Malan started to explore his shots as he hit a couple of boundaries and was hitting the ball in the gaps.
Coming in to chase 151, the equation was pretty simple for Hurricanes that was to win the match and they qualify for the finals of BBL 10. Hurricanes explosive opening pair D'Arcy Short and Mattew Wade just took on the attack and were up and running.

Wade who tonked a maximum and a boundary once again tried too much and skied one high in the air and lost his wicket batting on 13 runs. Short on the other end looked firm and in control as he hit a couple of boundaries.
What a great victory for Renegades this turned out to be. Zak Evans and the Renegades have a grand finish as he was able to pluck a couple more wickets in that final over and becomes the 2nd Renegades bowler after DJ Bravo register a five-wicket hall
Over: 20 | Summary: 1 4 W 4 W 1 Bowler: Zak Evans Score: 139/9
19.6 Zak Evans to Sandeep Lamichhane, finds the blockhole this time, the batsman digs it out to deep mid-wicket and takes a single. The Renegades seal the victory here at the MCG!
A FIVE-FORR FOR Zak Evans!!

Sandeep Lamichhane is the new batsman in for Hurricanes!!
19.5 Zak Evans to Riley Meredith, OUT! Sharp bumper from Evans, Meredith tries to get off the line but it is too quick, gloves it in the air straight to the keeper. And it's a five-wicket haul for Zak Evans! Finch suggesting Evans bowl the bump and surprise Riley which he does and gets his 5th wicket!!
19.4 Zak Evans to Riley Meredith, FOUR! Full ball outside the off-stump, Meredith nails the drive through the gap between mid-off and extra cover. 13 needed of 2 now
Riley Meredith is the new batsman in
19.3 Zak Evans to Nathan Ellis, OUT! That should probably seal the game. Ellis charges down the track and gets to the pitch of the ball but doesn't get any width, just chips it straight to mid-off in the end. Aaron Finch the skipper takes the catch fitting for Renegades!!
19.2 Zak Evans to Nathan Ellis, FOUR! Short delivery from Evans, Ellis backs away and flat bats it straight over the bowler's head. The mid-off is inside the circle and he fails to get to that ball! It was hit straight and the fielders in the deep had no chance there!!
19.1 Zak Evans to Scott Boland, back of a length delivery on the stumps, plays it with soft hands and gives the strike over to Ellis
No boundary scored in the penultimate over and to top it off, Peter Handscomb was run out on the final ball of that over. Renegades who are at the bottom of the table are now dictating the terms and playing a big part in shaping the BBL Finals here!! Hurricanes need 22 runs from the last over!!

Zak Evans
will bowl the final over!
