That's all from us tonight. It has been an absolute pleasure covering the IPL this year. Hope you too had a great time! Until next time, it's a goodbye from us.
It has been a wonderful season of IPL, arguably one of the best of the lot. With numerous matches going down to the wire, the fans were thoroughly entertained all through the 60 games. And as always, this year's tournament too has given us some bright talents to look forward to. It's time to draw the curtains and as MS Dhoni rightly said, the focus now shifts to the World Cup.
Rohit Sharma: We played some good cricket throughout the tournament. Everything went as per plan and credit needs to be given to the entire squad and support staff. Our bowling was excellent in this tournament. Different bowlers put up their hands at different stages and kept bringing us back into the game. Malinga has been doing it for us over the years and he was confident of defending whatever he had. As a captain, I'm learning with every game and every tournament. Credit to the players for performing well.
MS Dhoni: As a team, we had a good season. But it wasn't one of those seasons where we played good cricket and got to the finals. We need to go back to the drawing board and look at areas that need improvement for the next season. The middle order, especially, did not click for us. The bowlers did really well for us and kept performing throughout the tournament. The focus now is on the World Cup and after that, we need to fill the gaps to make it to the playoffs next year.

Jasprit Bumrah: I tried to be calm and didn't panic tonight. Very happy to contribute to the team's success. I tried to focus on one ball at a time and backed myself.
Man of the Match: Jasprit Bumrah
Game Changer of the Match: Rahul Chahar
Stylish Player of the Match: Kieron Pollard
Super Striker of the Match: Faf du Plessis
Perfect Catch of the Match: Shardul Thakur
Here's the moment that the Mumbai fans will cherish for a long time to come.
Nita Ambani (Owner of Mumbai Indians): I couldn't watch the game in the last few overs. We have now won the trophy in 2013, 2015, 2017 and 2019 and Rohit has been the captain on all the four occasions. I congratulate him for leading the team so beautifully.
Here's an interesting fact for you. In 2017, Mumbai Indians had won by just one run against the Rising Pune Super Giants when they last played a final in Hyderabad. Two years later, they return to the same venue on a similar occasion and guess what? They walk away with the trophy by a margin of one run again!
After 40 overs of nerve-wracking action, it is just one run that separates the winner from the loser tonight. Shane Watson, Stephen Fleming and the Super Kings are absolutely gutted. The men from Mumbai, on the other hand, are over the moon. The support staff has rushed on to the field and it's Malinga who is their king for the moment. Talk about redemption.
Mumbai Indians win the IPL 2019 by one run to be crowned as the champions for the fourth time.
Well, what have we just witnessed! T20 cricket at its very best. Malinga delivers a wonderful slower one and Thakur misses it to get the judgment against him. Mumbai have pulled off a heist and the stadium has been broken into a pandemonium!
