Right then, the first double header of the season is done and dusted. Six teams have played one game each and RR and KXIP face each other tomorrow to kick-start their campaigns. Do join us for that game tomorrow. But unitl then, it's a goodbye from us!
Rishabh Pant (Man of the Match): It's been a great journey and I'm trying to learn each and every day. It feels good when you score runs and your team wins. I always play accordingly to the situation most of the times. This time, I had to increase the run-rate, so I took my chances and got away. In T20, you have to something different and that's what I was thinking. I'm happy to bat anywhere for my team.
Shreyas Iyer: We got a great start. I was well prepared to take up the captaincy as I've led India 'A' teams as well as domestic teams. Hence, it has been a great experience different sort of personalities at the same time and playing against different teams. Our preparations were on the mark and we ticked all the boxes. Out overall atmosphere is quite amazing at the moment. But it's important for us to be consistent. He [Pant] is a really destructive batsman. But over the years, I've seen him mature a lot. He faced four dot balls at the start and then suddenly his strike-rate went up to 250. That's where the game changed in the first innings. Amazing batsmen and really helpful to have him in the team.
Rohit Sharma: First game, it's always a bit challenging for most of the teams when they come and play the first game with a lot of new players. But we made a lot of mistakes and that's probably the reason why we lost the game. We were in the game for the first 10 overs while bowling but the way Rishabh [Pant] batted, I think you have to give that credit. We were just not consistent with our lengths and we failed to execute our plans. We have to learn from our mistakes and come out positively next game. We had six bowling options and the combination we played with, we were very clear about how we wanted to go about this particular game. The pitch was good and it was coming on nicely. Yuvi [Yuvraj Singh] batted brilliantly and there were a few cameos. If someone from the top three would've gotten a 70 or 80, things would've been different.
A clinical start for Delhi. Meanwhile, for the seventh time in a row, Mumbai have lost their opening match in the IPL.
Chasing 214, Quinton de Kock gave MI a quick start but the top three didn't last long as they all fell inside the powerplay. Kieron Pollard joined forces with Yuvraj Singh to revive the chase for a little while but once the former was dismissed, things kept going downhill for the hosts. Yuvraj Singh scored a fighting half-century but it all went in vain. Delhi bowlers did well and Rabada, in particular, was excellent. However, it was Rishabh Pant's mind-boggling 78 off 27 deliveries that took the game away from MI.
And that's the end of the game as McClenaghan is out stumped off Tewatia. Bumrah will not come out to bat due to a shoulder injury he sustained at the end of the first innings.
19.2 OUT! Stumped. Rahul Tewatia to Mitchell McClenaghan. Leg spinner length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, missed to wicketkeeper, by Pant.
19.1 Rahul Tewatia to Mitchell McClenaghan. Leg spinner length ball, outside off stump moves in front slog sweeping, inside edge to short mid wicket for no runs, fielded by Pant.
Rabada finishes with figures of 2/23 in his four overs. Excellent returns for him and he was the standout bowler today.
Over 19 MIN: 176/8(RR 9.26) Bowler: K Rabada Sum..: 1wd 1wd W 2 . 2 1 1
18.6 Kagiso Rabada to Mitchell McClenaghan. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, to deep mid wicket for 1 run, fielded by Tewatia.
18.5 Kagiso Rabada to Rasikh Salam. Off cutter length ball, off stump backing away driving, in the air under control to long on for 1 run, fielded by Iyer.

18.1 Wide Kagiso Rabada to Yuvraj Singh. Half volley, down leg side on the front foot flick, Play and Miss (Leg Side) to wicketkeeper for 1 run, fielded by Pant.
And Yuvraj's fighting innings comes to an end. Tries to go for the big slog doesn't get the connection and holes out in the deep.
18.2 Kagiso Rabada to Rasikh Salam. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, to deep cover for 2 runs, fielded by Tewatia.

18.1 Wide Kagiso Rabada to Yuvraj Singh. Half volley, down leg side on the front foot flick, Play and Miss (Leg Side) to wicketkeeper for 1 run, fielded by Pant.
A couple of boundaries in that over and still only 9 came of it. 46 now required off the last two overs.

Fifty for Yuvraj. A hard-fought innings this, has blown hot and cold but has stuck in there. He gets to the landmark off 33 deliveries.
17.3 FOUR! Trent Boult to Yuvraj Singh. Length ball, outside off stump on the back foot Slog, outside edge past third man for 4 runs.
17.2 Trent Boult to Yuvraj Singh. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot defending, to short leg for no runs, fielded by Boult.
17.1 Trent Boult to Yuvraj Singh. Slower ball full toss, outside off stump on the front foot flick, inside edge to deep square leg for no runs, fielded by Paul.
55 from 18! KKR needed 53 from 18 and they did it. Can Yuvraj inspire MI and lead them to a miraculous win?
