Right then, the league stages are done and dusted. CSK and MI play the first Qualifier in Chennai on Tuesday while DC and SRH will battle it out in the Eliminator in Vizag on Wednesday. Do join us for those games as well! But until then, it's a goodbye from us!
Hardik Pandya [man of the Match]: Getting a Man of the Match for my bowling performance is really pleasing. When you hit the ball, there's nothing better than that. I have no clue (from where I get the power). Krunal thinks I get the power from my hip. The Chennai game will be a cracker of a game. It depends on the situation. On the day if the team requires me to bowl 4 overs, 10 overs, 15 overs in a Test match, I'm ready to do it.
Rohit Sharma: It was a team effort and that pleased me the most. There are a lot of characters in the team who want to put their hand up. To restrict a batting line-up like KKR to under 140 was a great effort. The pitch was good. The way they started in the first six overs we thought probably we might be chasing 170. The business end really matters and we didn't really start well. But we know we have to come back well. We need everyone to chip in at the business end.
The Mumbai Indians team are doing a lap of honour across the Wankhede Stadium. This was the last game of the season and they're holding a banner which reads, "Thank you to the largest family in the world."
Dinesh Karthik: We didn't find momentum after the six over.s We didn't really get going and wickets falling didn't really help. When we were batting, the wicket was sticky and they had a couple of bowlers who bowled good cutters. We had decided if we had an opportunity to bat Russell up the order we would do that. He is a human being as well and to expect him to deliver every time is unfair. We were not up to the mark this year. The season was decent but not the best season and there are definitely a lot of areas to improve and comeback next year.
It was a walk in the park for MI. Quinton de Kock kicked things off with a brisk start before perishing right after the powerplay. But after his departure, Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav wiped off the chase with ease. The KKR bowling looked as toothless as it could get. None of the bowlers threatened enough and after a point of time, they were just going through the motions and waiting for the inevitable.
It's all over! KKR have been knocked out of the IPL and for the first time ever in the history of the IPL, a team has qualified with 12 points. SRH are through and MI have forced their way to the top of the table and now get two shots at the final.
16.1 SIX! Andre Russell to Suryakumar Yadav. Short, outside off stump on the back foot hooking, well timed in the air under control over fine leg for 6 runs.
Time-out with just 6 runs to go! KKR are just waiting for the inevitable here.
