Mumbai have now jumped up to the third spot with 10 points and are now behind Delhi on the net run rate. RCB, on the other hand, have lost their seventh game and their season continues to go haywire. Hope you enjoyed our live coverage tonight. KXIP host RR tomorrow. Do join us for that game as well but until then, it's goodnight and goodbye from us!
Lasith Malinga (Man of the Match)
: Last couple of weeks have been tough for me traveling between Sri Lanka and here. We have to prepare mentally and it is very important in a tournament like this. We knew who can do the damage and AB is the main guy. When he got out, I used my variations and took the wickets.
: Hardik Pandya has been hitting it well and that's been helping the team. That is something he wanted to rectify and do something this season. He wanted to come out and prove a point this IPL because he has not had much game time. Malinga's performance matters the most. With that sort of performance, it will put us in good stead. Bowling at Wankhede at the death is not easy but he held his own. If the pitch plays like that I wouldn't want to chase. We never expected so much turn but lucky we got a good start and the guys batting lower down the order built on that.
: We played a pretty good game. We weren't good enough in the first six overs. The guys fought hard and came back well. One of those days where it didn't come off at the end. With two right-handers we took the risk. It's good to see an international cricketer [Moeen Ali] to take responsibility. We just need to enjoy ourselves and play like we've done in the last two games. In pressure situations, we need to step up and also, take the half-chances.
RCB were below par and with the way the MI openers started, they were always going to be short. Rohit and de Kock got MI off to a flier but the introduction of spin turned the game. Moeen Ali's double-wicket over turned the game before a small partnership between Surya and Kishan bought MI back on track. However, RCB clawed their way back to make it an exciting contest. It was spinning but RCB's pacers let them down. But it was Hardik Pandya who was magnificent as he struck a 15-ball 37 which included 5 fours and 2 sixes to finish the game.
Single down to long-on and MI finish it off with an over to spare. It was going down to the wire but Hardik Pandya didn't want to wait too long as he finished it off in style in the 19th over itself.

18.6 Pawan Negi to Hardik Pandya. Stock ball full toss, outside off stump on the front foot driving, to long on for 1 run, fielded by Kohli.
Six, four, four, six
! Hardik Pandya has absolutely killed this contest. He's absolutely brutal against spin and he's murdered Negi here. He did it back in 2015 against the same bowler when he was a part of CSK and he's done it again.
18.6 Wide Pawan Negi to Hardik Pandya. Stock length ball, wide outside off stump on the front foot Leave, Left to wicketkeeper for 1 run, fielded by Patel.
18.5 SIX! Pawan Negi to Hardik Pandya. Stock length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed in the air under control over long on for 6 runs.

18.3 FOUR! Pawan Negi to Hardik Pandya. Stock length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, well timed past deep extra cover for 4 runs.
The margin for error is very small in T20 cricket. Negi beat Pandya on the first ball before India's premier all-rounder smashed him for six!
18.2 SIX! Pawan Negi to Hardik Pandya. Stock ball back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, well timed in the air under control over long on for 6 runs.
18.1 Pawan Negi to Hardik Pandya. Stock ball back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, missed to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Patel.
22 required off the last two overs
! Pollard is at the crease and Hardik is hitting it well. Mumbai, favourites you reckon? Negi has one over up his sleeve. Will he bowl this penultimate over?
MI: 150/5(RR 8.33)

Krunal Pandya holes out and it's game on at the Wankhede! He didn't get the flow tonight and eventually, hits a harmless slower length ball straight to deep mid-wicket.
17.5 OUT! Caught (Sub). Mohammed Siraj to Krunal Pandya. Length ball, down leg side moves in front Slog, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to deep mid wicket.
Two big deliveries coming up...

17.3 Mohammed Siraj to Hardik Pandya. Length ball, wide outside off stump on the front foot Leave, Left to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by Patel.
Straight back over the bowler's head and Hardik Pandya's turning it on here. Siraj bowls length and Hardik punishes him.
17.2 FOUR! Mohammed Siraj to Hardik Pandya. Back of a length, outside off stump Deep in crease pulling, well timed in the air under control past long off for 4 runs.
17.1 Mohammed Siraj to Krunal Pandya. Length ball, down leg side on the front foot driving, to mid off for 1 run, mis-fielded by Kohli.
Oh Tim Southee, what have you done? Saini continues to bowl the hard length and Hardik tries to manufacture a shot over mid-off who was inside the circle. Southee back tracks and can just get fingertips to it and parries it to the boundary.
