New Zealand vs Bangladesh live commentary

Well, New Zealand head home after today's game but Bangladesh will be praying that Australia loses tomorrow. Well, that is it from us, here at Sportskeeda today. Do join us tomorrow for the exciting contest between The Ashes' rivals. It is Australia taking on England. Thanks for tuning in today and do not forget to follow the action on Sportskeeda tomorrow. Till then, this is Tejas Venkatesh signing off and it is a goodbye and goodnight folks.
Mashrafe Mortaza says, "It is a great feeling. Back in 2005, against Australia, and today as well, it is a great feeling. We have not been upto the mark with bowling in this tournament, but today we did well by hitting the deck hard. Shakib and Mahmudullah phenomenal. Shakib has always been a champion for us and Mahmudullah batted like the way he did in 2015. It was pretty much team effort and we are feeling good now."

Kane Williamson says, "To be fair, on that surface we thought it was a scrappy total. We thought if we can bowl well, we can win and we started showing those signs there. But credit to Bangladesh and that partnership was simply superb. Maybe 290 could have been a competitive total but the partnership from Bangladesh today was special and now they have every chance to go to the semi-finals."
Now, it is time for the captains to talk.
The player of the match is Shakib Al Hasan for his match winning knock.
And now, it hits you like a truck that Bangladesh might have won under complex circumstances but if Australia wins tomorrow, then this win is of no use. It is more like Australia versus the rest of the world when they face the hosts England tomorrow.
Southee was the only pick amongst the bowlers, the rest of them barring Boult did not have an idea about breaking the partnership nor about containing. A tough day for the Kiwis. For Bangladesh however, only two names will matter tonight. Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyad. Take a bow, gentlemen!
You have to feel bad for New Zealand here. They put a decent total on the board and their spearhead Tim Southee reduced Bangladesh's batting unit into ashes here. But out sneaked Shakib and Mahmudullah out of the ashes. Outstanding batting effort. This shows how far they have come in the international scene. An unforgettable day for them.
Edged and four. Bangladesh have pulled off a heist!! Look at the scenes here. The whole Bangladesh dressing room erupts. The crowd goes crazy. What a magnificent chase this is! Absolutely sensational from Bangladesh.
47.2 FOUR! Adam Milne to Mosaddek Hossain. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, outside edge past third man for 4 runs.
47.1 Adam Milne to Mosaddek Hossain. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot Steer, to gully for no runs, fielded by Guptill.
Hundred for Mahmudullah. Cometh the hour, cometh the man, Mahmudullah take a bow. This is mind-boggling stuff.

46.3 OUT! Bowled. Trent Boult to Shakib Al Hasan. Length ball, off stump on the front foot Slog, missed. Gone! He wanted to finish this off too quickly and now he has to witness them winning only from the dressing room.
46.2 FOUR! Trent Boult to Shakib Al Hasan. Short, outside off stump backing away driving, well timed past deep extra cover for 4 runs. Back to back boundaries. What a shot and what a day he has had here.
46.1 FOUR! Trent Boult to Shakib Al Hasan. Half volley, down leg side backing away driving, well timed past long on for 4 runs. That goes to the fence like a bullet. On to it in a flash.
I have no clue how New Zealand are in this position now. Remember? Bangladesh were 33 for 4.
