Till then, this is Shashwat Kumar signing off! Goodbye!
India go 2-0 up in the series!
The game on Sunday traversed an entirely different path to the one that transpired on Friday, although the results remained the same. New Zealand, in their pursuit for an above-par total floundered spectacularly as they failed to come to grips with the sluggishness of the surface. Jadeja and Chahal firmly applied the brakes in the middle phases and that allowed the likes of Bumrah and Shami to close out the innings, with only 132 on the board.

In reply, India were jolted early as Kohli and Rohit departed in the PowerPlay. However, post that, Rahul and Shreyas got together to ensure that no further hiccups ensued, with the former churning out another well-compiled half-century.

The series now moves to Seddon Park on the 29th of January as the Black Caps hope to get themselves on the board and keep the rubber alive.
Dube finishes it off in style!
Dube gets on top of a short delivery and hammers it over long on to complete India's chase and ensure that they take a 2-0 lead in the 5-match series.
17.3 SIX! Tim Southee to Shivam Dube. Short, down leg side on the back foot pulling, well timed in the air under control over long on for 6 runs.
17.2 Tim Southee to Lokesh Rahul. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot driving, to long on for 1 run, fielded by Tickner.
17.1 Tim Southee to Shivam Dube. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot driving, to deep cover for 1 run, fielded by Guptill.
Over 17 | Summary: 1 6 1wd W 1 . 1 Bowler: I Sodhi IND: 127/3(RR 7.47)
16.6 Ish Sodhi to Shivam Dube. Leg spinner full toss, outside off stump on the front foot driving, to long off for 1 run, fielded by de Grandhomme.
16.5 Ish Sodhi to Shivam Dube. Leg spinner back of a length, middle stump on the back foot working, to short mid wicket for no runs, fielded by Williamson.
16.4 Ish Sodhi to Lokesh Rahul. Leg spinner half volley, middle stump on the front foot driving, to long on for 1 run, fielded by de Grandhomme.
Sodhi gets Shreyas!
Sodhi entices Shreyas to go downtown again and the batsman takes the invitation instantly. However, this time, he isn't to the pitch of the ball, meaning that he has to reach out. Unsurprisingly, he doesn't connect properly and skies it completely. Southee comes around from long off and completes a good low catch to his right, running forward. Surely, it's too little too late for the Kiwis now.
16.3 OUT! Caught. Ish Sodhi to Shreyas Iyer. Leg spinner length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to long off, by Southee.
16.3 Wide Ish Sodhi to Shreyas Iyer. Leg spinner length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Leave, Left to wicketkeeper for 1 run, fielded by Seifert.
Wow! Shreyas smashes one into oblivion!
Sodhi again ventures into Shreyas' hitting arc and he gets mauled over long on. Like his previous six against Sodhi, the batsman gets onto the front foot and effortlessly swings through the line, sending the ball soaring over long on for six.
16.2 SIX! Ish Sodhi to Shreyas Iyer. Leg spinner length ball, to leg on the front foot driving, well timed in the air under control over long on for 6 runs.
16.1 Ish Sodhi to Lokesh Rahul. Leg spinner length ball, down leg side on the front foot working, to square leg for 1 run, fielded by Munro.
14 runs come off the 16th over and India now seem primed to hunt down their target with an over to spare, much like the other day.
Over 16 | Summary: 1 1 6 4 1 1 Bowler: B Tickner IND: 117/2(RR 7.31)
15.6 Blair Tickner to Lokesh Rahul. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, in the air under control to deep mid wicket for 1 run, fielded by Santner.

Shreyas in control!
Shreyas massacres a length ball outside the off-stump and dumps it over long off for a majestic six.
15.3 SIX! Blair Tickner to Shreyas Iyer. Length ball, outside off stump backing away driving, well timed in the air under control over long off for 6 runs.
15.2 Blair Tickner to Lokesh Rahul. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot glancing, to fine leg for 1 run, fielded by Sodhi.
15.1 Blair Tickner to Shreyas Iyer. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot flick, to backward square leg for 1 run, fielded by Sodhi.
Over 15 | Summary: . 1 6 4 5wd . . Bowler: H Bennett IND: 103/2(RR 6.87)
14.6 Hamish Bennett to Lokesh Rahul. Length ball, off stump on the front foot working, to short mid wicket for no runs, shy attempt by Munro.
14.5 Hamish Bennett to Lokesh Rahul. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Steer, to backward point for no runs, fielded by Taylor.
Bennett shoots himself in the foot!
Bennett decides to go short but this time, it is way too short. He bangs it well into the wicket and it bounces so high that Seifert is just a spectator. In fact, the ball isn't even in the same frame as the batsman. Even Mohammad Irfan and Jason Holder combined would have found it tough to rein that in.
Fifty for Rahul!
Bennett bowls it full this time and Rahul is waiting to capitalise. He gets onto the front foot on a delivery outside the off-stump and caresses it over covers for four. And, that's 50 for the opener. Exceptional innungs under the circumstances.
