West Indies return from this tour empty-handed. New Zealand would take want to take a day off and then start gearing up for the series against Pakistan. Thanks for being with us on Sports Keeda for the coverage of this match. This is Prakhar Sachdeo and on behalf of my fellow commentator Prashanth saying goodbye.
Tom Latham and the rest of the New Zealand squad is presented the series trophy. Latham and his team pose with the trophy for the pictures. The team looks happy and why not?
New Zealand captain Tom Latham

Looking at the World Test Championship, it is nice to get full points from this Test series. We wanted to take one game at a time and it's worked for us. It is nice for us to be the no.1 ranked Test side. but that's just a byproduct of the work. There is another series coming up, so the focus needs to turn to that. Many players are putting their hands up. The effort of the bowlers has been great, to bowl West Indies out successively in the two Tests. They never complained and just did their job. The here have been green and we have learnt to play in these conditions. I am sure Kane Williamson would have been following the match.
West Indies captain Jason Holder

Disappointing to lose another Test match. The fight that we showed in the second innings is what we are looking for. There are a few positives. Shemar, Joshua and Jermaine have batted well. We have showed time and again that we have the ability. The key is to show consistency. That is something West Indies cricket has lacked in recent times. Honestly, I expect us to play a lot better. I believe we could have won a Test match in New Zealand. I think the fielding really let us down. We cannot give good batsmen so many chances.
Kyle Jamieson is Player of the Series for picking 11 wickets in two Tests

It is cool to be part of such a special group. I am glad to play my part in the series win. It is a collective effort. The whole bowling unit performed so well. This win will motivate me the most. I need to get my batting up the gears. I have had four Tests at home now and these conditions are familiar to me. When overseas tours happen, I would like to learn from those experiences.
Henry Nicholls is the Man of the Match for scoring 174

It felt nice to contribute with the bat. Nice to be part of a Test win and a Test series win. There were lots of ebbs and flows in my innings, I was also lucky. Got good support from the lower order and then the bowlers did what they do at the end. We knew that coming here without Kane Williamson would be a challenge.
New Zealand win the match by an inning and 12 runs.

This match shall be remembered for a stunning hundred from the bat of Henry Nicholls. He was struggling with the bat but he produced a great knock in tough conditions just when his team needed it the most. The hundred propelled New Zealand to a monster total of 460 in the first inning. Once New Zealand had a big total on the board it was one-way traffic as the pace unit of Tim Southee, Kyle Jamieson and Trent Boult ran through the West Indies batting twice in double-quick time.

New Zealand win the series 2-0. With the win New Zealand rise to the No.1 spot in the ICC Test ranking. What a special achievement for the Blackcaps. After reaching the summit clash in the Cricket World Cup last year and missing the World Cup trophy by a slim margin, reaching the pinnacle of Test ranking will feel great for the New Zealanders. This also shows that New Zealand are remarkable in all three formats.

West Indies were poor in both the Tests, Absolutely no fight from the visitors in the series.
79.1 Neil Wagner to Shannon Gabriel, OUT! BOWLED! Full-length ball swinging in from Wagner and Gabriel trying to clear his front leg and hoick it away is beaten all ends up and sees his stumps all over the place.
With the fate of the match decided Holder played some aggressive shots in that over. Gabriel survived a close appeal on the last delivery.
Over: 79 | Summary: 4 4 0 0 1 1lb Bowler: Daryl Mitchell Score: 317/9
78.6 Daryl Mitchell to Chemar Holder, full-length ball angling into the batsman hits hi on the pads the appeal is turned down but New Zealand will REVIEW! Gabriel takes a single.

The replays show that will miss the wickets.
78.5 Daryl Mitchell to Chemar Holder, good-length ball on stump line and the batsman defends that one onto the off-side and takes a single
78.4 Daryl Mitchell to Chemar Holder, BOUNCER! Short ball this time and the batsman is late on the pull shot.
78.3 Daryl Mitchell to Chemar Holder, BOUNCER! Short ball and it surprises the batsman trying to duck under that one.
78.2 Daryl Mitchell to Chemar Holder, POWER! FOUR! Same ball and similar shot as he smokes this one yet again back past the bowler.
78.1 Daryl Mitchell to Chemar Holder, FOUR! Full-length delivery outside off-stump and the batsman clears his front leg and smokes this one back past the bowler.
Wagner ends DA Silva's resistance in that over. Good inning from the newcomer. But New Zealand are now only a wicket away from the win. With Shanon Gabriel batting at the other end the last wicket should come soon.
