Commentary
That brings an end to our coverage of this exciting ECS contest. Stay tuned to Sportskeeda for live commentaries as well as the latest news. This is me, Avik Bose and my colleague, Lavil Saldanha, signing off.
Losing the toss and being asked to BAT first, Overseas CC looked to be shaky at the beginning. They managed 28/0 from the first 4 overs and with wickets in hand looked to go big. Gericke looked in fine touch and hit boundaries all around the park. But unfortunately got dismissed after scoring 40 runs from 27 balls. After his dismissal, Overseas batters bound it difficult to get going. The batsmen struggled in the middle and they lacked proper intent. Opener Kleinepunte remained unbeaten adding 26 runs from 28 balls while Kniverton also produced an unbeaten cameo of 7 runs from 6 balls at the very depth. From the bowling department, Yousaf took 1 wicket while Ezhaq Masih, Bilal, and Thomas were very economical and restricted the run flow. Overseas CC finished on 89/1 from their 10 overs.
Chasing 90 runs, Southern Crusaders CC got off to a dreadful start with 11/3 after the first 2 overs. But from there on, it was the Gopal Thakur and Ricky Bastiansz show. Both of them played sensibly and hit the ball on its merit and guided the team home. Gopal Thakur remained unbeaten on 40 runs from 23 balls while Ricky Bastiansz blazed to an unbeaten 30 runs knock from just 13 balls. From the bowling department, Andy Naudi took 2 wickets while skipper Hirschi took 1 wicket. None of the other bowlers were able to put any dent in the run chase. Southern Crusaders CC reached 92/3 from 7.1 overs with 17 balls to spare.

Southern Crusaders CC thus complete a resounding performance and win the match by 7 wickets while recording their 1st victory of the tournament.
