Commentary
So, that is it from me, Karthik Raj and my co-commentator Gaurav Kadam. Join Sportskeeda's live coverage of the second T20I which will start at 4.00 PM IST
Deservedly, Babar Azam was named the 'Man of the Match' as Pakistan might have been in a tricky position without him.
So, that is it. Zimbabwe wrap up a comfortable 6-wicket victory. A target of 157 was never going to be enough on this wicket and Babar Azam proved that with a classy 82 off 55 balls. Zimbabwe did dismiss Fakhar Zaman in the fourth over itself but Pakistan had already got 36 runs on the board. At the other end, Babar Azam was showing his class as Pakistan managed to get 52 runs off the Powerplay. The exciting Haider Ali however failed to use the opportunity as he was dismissed by a superb ball by Ngarava in the eighth over. This dismissal didn't perturb Babar Azam as he stitched a superb 80-run partnership with the experienced Mohammad Hafeez.

Hafeez didn't look at his best but Babar continued to blaze away as he brought up a superb fifty off 34 balls. He continued to attack the bowlers as Hafeez couldn't get going at the other end. The Pakistani skipper did give a chance in the 13th over but Blessing Muzarabani dropped it. It might have been a big let-off anyway as Pakistan only required 46 runs off the last seven overs. Eventually, both Babar and Hafeez did get out but Pakistan reached the finish line with seven balls to spare.
18.5 Blessing Muzarabani to Mohammad Rizwan, angled at the stumps and Rizwan is hit on the pads and the players appeal for the LBW as Rizwan completes the run.

Zimbabwe calls for the DRS check and the TV umpire confirms the on-field decision of Not Out!

With that run, Pakistan have won the first T20 defeating Zimbabwe!
18.4 Blessing Muzarabani to Mohammad Rizwan, angled at the batsman as Rizwan came down the track but can only defend it to mid off for the dot
18.3 Blessing Muzarabani to Mohammad Rizwan, full and outside off as Rizwan defends his first ball back to the bowler
18.2 Blessing Muzarabani to Mohammed Hafeez, BOWLED HIM! Pakistan have to wait a tad longer for the win! Good length from Blessing and the ball cuts inside as Hafeez misses the line and has the woodwork rattled!
18.1 Blessing Muzarabani to Mohammed Hafeez, FOUR! poor line from the big man Blessing as he strays down the leg side and easy picking for Hafeez as the ball runs down to the fine leg rope for the boundary!
Pakistan are just a hit away from the win now. PAK: 152/3 off 18 overs. They require five runs off 12 balls
Over 18 | Summary: 0 0 4 1 4 1 Bowler: Richard Ngarava 152/3
17.6 Richard Ngarava to Mohammed Hafeez, angled at the pads as Hafeez runs it down to deep mid wicket for the single. He wanted the second but Shah sent him back!
17.5 Richard Ngarava to Mohammed Hafeez, FOUR! Full outside off and Hafeez plays it uppishly just clear of the mid-off fielder whose outstretched hand was not enough to stop the boundary!
17.4 Richard Ngarava to Khushdil Shah, full and outside off as Shah is able to get it down to long on for the single
17.3 Richard Ngarava to Khushdil Shah, FOUR! What a way to get off the mark! Short from Richard and Shah picked it up early and smacked that one toiwards the cow corner region for the boundary!
17.2 Richard Ngarava to Khushdil Shah, short and pulled well by Shah but finds the fielder inside the circle
17.1 Richard Ngarava to Khushdil Shah, good length outside off and Shah defends it off the back foot to mid off
Zimbabwe finally get Babar Azam but he has done the job already. What an innings from the Pakistan skipper. PAK: 142/3 off 17 overs. They require 15 runs off 18 balls
Over 17 | Summary: 1 1 2 1 1 0 Bowler: Tendai Chatara 142/2
16.6 Tendai Chatara to Babar Azam, CATCH! Full and on the stumps as Babar goes for the big heave but finds the fielder at deep mid wicket for the easy catch! Poorly timed there as Babar has to depart after a stellar knock of 82 runs!
16.5 Tendai Chatara to Mohammed Hafeez, yorker length and slow outside off as Hafeez plays it late to the covers for an easy single
